Scorpions vs Pride
Persistent rain decimated much of the afternoon sessions yesterday as batsmen continued to struggle in the Professional Cricket League four-day match between Jamaica Scorpions and Barbados Pride at Sabina Park.
When showers halted play for good at 2:09 pm — approximately three hours before the usual cut-off point — Jamaica Scorpions were 22-2 in their second innings and trailing the Pride by 18 runs.
The Scorpions’ slow left-arm orthodox bowler Nikita Miller was the shining light on a gloomy second day that saw only 58 overs and four balls being bowled due to the rain curtailment.
Volcanoes vs Jaguars
Leon Johnson led from the front with his second century of the season and shared in
important partnerships with Vishaul Singh and Raymon Reifer to put the Guyana Jaguars in firm control against the Windwards Volcanoes at the end of a rain affected second day of their eighth round PCL four-day First-Class match at the Beausejour Stadium yesterday.
Johnson’s fourth ton and second for the season lasted 183 balls, 285 minutes with 13 fours. The 28-year-old Jaguars Captain added 112 for the fifth wicket with Singh who faced 149 balls, batted for 161 minutes and reached the boundary four times in 58 to become the first batsman to reach 600 runs.

Red Force vs Hurricanes
The Trinidad and Tobago Red Force hold a 39 run lead over the Leeward Islands Hurricanes in the West Indies Cricket Board Regional Four-Day Tournament Round Eight clash at the National Cricket Centre, Balmain, Couva.
Experienced batsman Narsingh Deonarine is unbeaten on 49 and Steven Katwaroo is on 18 not out at the close of the second day’s play. Raheem Cornwall was the pick of the bowlers, taking three for 46 as the Red Force closed on 264 for six after 91 overs.
