Fletcher and Charles both played well during T20 World Cup so they seem to be in some form, not sure if Fletcher has fully recovered from his injuries, if not Carter will have to learn quickly how to open an innings for all other positions are possible taken.

Having selected Benn and Narine, I would have gone for a batsman
Lewis from T&T would had been my choice

In reply to openning Every selector gets at least one pick, no matter how nonsensical it is to everyone else. I suspect Nurse is Browne's waste pick.

What I would to know though is who is the other madman responsible for determining that Johnson Charles could be an opening batsman in a 50 over game.

True but Ramdin, sadly is not considered an ODI #6 batsman, unless his form is improved. We need batsmen who can go out there and start scoring immediately by keeping up or making up for any deficit in run rate. Ramdin like Marlon sometimes take sometime to get going.

Give me Lewis or Kraigg Brathwaite over him in this format anyday!

Charles and Fletcher scares me. No way they getting way often against high quality attacks like Aus and SA. This is one day cricket...WI will be one down, two down very quickly with all pressure on Darren Bravo...where is Lewis or Kraigg to help him out?

Dude..Ramdin was averaging in the 40s one year recently as a ODI batsman, and he has never had a Samuels type of innings/ SR in any format, normally busy at the crease.
He and the Bravos have put together some good partnerships turning over the strike and running 1s and 2s hard for both TNT & WI

True Ramdin had some decent scores up to a year ago but recently shows waning form but to be fair to the player, let's watch and see how well he will perform this season, this assessment actually apply to all other WI players.

Johnson Charles has 2 ODI tons and 5x50 from 35 ODI innings...with a 30 ave and SR 84
Check here
Of course he must do better....but with Gayle and Simmons not selected...Charles has some experience to do the job

When you think things are improving they go backwards..Have these selectors played cricket?..T20 and odi are two different kettle of fish..In odis you need batsmen to bat through 40 overs at a reasonably rr, then the bits and pieces ala Pollard, Holder Brathwaite and the tail for 10 overs..I wouldn't have a problem with paint at the top, yes paint.
