HEADLINE: Angry Ramdin hints at being dropped for India series

CaribbeanCricket.com Jul 6, 2016, 8:01:03 PM

THERE are early indications that there will be at least one major change to the West Indies squad named to play India in a four Test-match series in the Caribbean starting later this month.
The first Test is set for Antigua from July 21 to 25.West Indies wicketkeeper-batsman Denesh Ramdin was indicating on social media yesterday that he is being dropped for the upcoming series.
He did not make mention of who would be replacing him.
According to the 31-year-old Trinidadian, who has played 74 Tests for the West Indies, the recently appointed Chairman of Selectors Courtney Browne, himself a former West Indies wicketkeeper, has indicated that Ramdin will not be selected as his Test average of 25.87 is simply not good enough.
“What a rainy day, lil heads up for shotta80 fans wouldn’t be playing in Test series vs India. New chairman says my average isn’t good,” Ramdin posted on his Twitter account.
He immediately went on the offensive attacking the chairman of selectors about his career playing for the West Indies.

I have given Ramdin flak when I thought he deserved but in this case i don't support that move. I would be interesting to see if it is shane Dorwich that will be replacing him

They both suck..Ramdhin has been living a charmed life for someone as below par as there ever was in cricket. Its time to move on and look for a wkkeeper that can handle and justify the position.
If you look at teams the wk keep job has to be earned.

What childish comments. You get dropped for averaging 25, so you attack the chief selector and say you were better than him..lol. People get dropped all the time for non performance. Being better than the chief selector is no justification for a place.
You need to go back and work hard to regain your spot. Keepers these days are very productive with the bat..

Almost every West Indies cricketer not named Lara, Ambrose & Walsh has lived a charmed life over past 2 decades or so!

You all over the place looking for a conspiracy.

I am not gonna argue whether or not the drop was deserved because at the end of the day selection is not a science. It's a judgment call.

What i can say is that Ramdin's public rant on Twitter is immature. His comparing his stats to Browne's is also silly.

Address that

If the keeper is dropped for his batting, therefore, the batters should also be dropped for under performances as well, the bowlers should be dropped for below average as well.

I am not disputing the decision, however, I am questioning the reasoning???

Then it comes down to who will replace these players when the cupboard is empty???

"DON'T HATE THE PLAYER, HATE THE GAME,"

And do you honestly think there is anyone, there is no need to drop Ramdin if you are not going to drop some of our top order batsmen. The fact that he is the best w/k that we have had for many years don't seem to count, both you and Courtney Browne are wrong, badly wrong.
