Denesh Ramdin has 2,898 runs in Tests at an average of 25.87 
West Indies wicketkeeper-batsman and former captain, Denesh Ramdin is disappointed yet positive about his exclusion from the side for Test series against India. Ramdin recently hinted his exclusion via tweet saying that the newly appointed selection panel’s Chairman and former West Indies player Courtney Browne thinks that his average is not good enough. He was also asked by Browne to participate in West Indies’ premier four-day competition to earn a place in the side. The Test series kicks off on July 21 at Antigua. Ramdin has 2,121 runs in ODIs, which is highest for a wicketkeeper-batsman for West Indies. He also has 2,898 runs in Tests which is only second to Jeff Dujon who has 3,322 runs. Ramdin told Cricbuzz, ”I haven’t felt any pressure for the last three or four years,” Ramdin told a Jamaican radio station on Friday (July . “I felt a bit surprised, but I have no choice but to live by the decision of the higher authority. I don’t own cricket, and, well, I have to go back to my game in the regional four day-set up and come again. It seems like I’m not a senior player who has done well over the years. However, I’ve been down that road before and come back and done very well, so I think the process is easy.”

To think a 25 average return is doing well is a problem

What funny is that while in the employ of the WICB all these senior players have a lot to say. The management sucks, the selectors sucks, the money they are being paid is chick feed and how much better they can do if they pursue other options.

Yet when they are given the boot they kick up a storm and try to hold on for dear life to the same employer with all those faults. Just walk and leave the people dem wuk man, you not entitled ... it just a job and other people lookin wuk every day

In reply to Pacy Ramdin is in reality an allrounder in the team and as an allrounder his numbers are not that bad, however he should be batting lower down in the batting order if he retains his place. The WI has had a History of having wicketkeepers who were inconsistent with the bat and when researched is done it will be noticed that Ramdin's batting average is among the highest for all W/keepers that played over 10 Test for the WI.
