Like the following in the 4 day team: Kieran Powell, Evin Lewis, Vishual Singh, Shamarh Brooks, Shimron Hetmyer, Jahmar Hamilton, Rahkeem Cornwall, and Gudakesh Motie-Kanhai. I also hope the selectors have had a moment of inspiration in picking Reynard Leveridge...Bish was bigging him up while commentating on the recent Sabina test match.
The One day team on the other hand looks a bit light on batting with only Jason Mo, Rovman Powell, Andre Fletcher?, Kyle Hope, and Chadwick Walton. Better served with bowlers in: Veerasammy Permaul, Jon-Russ Jaggesar, Damion Jacobs, Delorn Johnson, Ronsford Beaton, Kesrick Williams, Kyle Mayers

In reply to BajeBish was bigging him up...apparently he's about Bish's height and in the Jamaica Defence Force and was bowling pretty quick to the guys in the nets.

I got same impression from Bish comments that Levridge is no medium pacer, but a genuine pace bowler. I hope everyone has called this right in snatching someone really unknown into the limelight. Go Reynard!

Actually not a bad selection of players, they all desperately need international experience and exposure. I guess big bats Andre McCarthy will have his hands full on the ODI team with the limited batsmen available, although I see him more a player for the longer version not ODI but they all have to be ready to bat at any opportunity given.

Noticed only two players, Damion Jacobs and Delorn Johnson, made both squads. Not quite sure what that means.

I like both teams.
Based on the unavailability of players on international duty, but would have loved to see like a Pooran in the one day games, and Johnson Charles in the four day

I really don't want to start another week long debate on the boards about Miller, I finally ended one just this morning but he must be wondering what else he needs to do in order to get back into the selector's grace. Compounded by the fact that they recently throw him a bone in a President IX team. However, if Hodge continues to perform well, his time will come soon, just that he didn't play in many matches but certainly a player to watch.

Dude Miller is done and dusted. Let him stay in the Jamaican team and mold the youngsters. He is not international material.

Based on the two teams selected, it is clear that our selectors continue to dig grave yards for our players. I mean why is Shai Hope not on any of the teams? One will remember in 2015, when we needed an opener to join Brathwaite, they bypassed the two openers from the Windward, with the most runs during the domestic season and opted to go instead with Hope, a number 3 batsman and, Chandrika who had not scored a first class hundred. Both players have failed miserably in test. But the sad thing is, they dropped Hope after a brilliant 118 no against India test team, and now they have a chance to develop Hope in the A team, and somehow he is not good enough? Seems like they buried Devon Smith, buried Theophile, placed Hope in ICU with wit coma and no hope of survive and Chandrika is in and out of hospital.

I'm thinking Hope is now firmly ensconced in the senior team squad (if not 1st XI) as a middle order bat and an emergency opener if need be.

VOR based on WI recent test results with our inability to bowl out any reputable team twice and struggle to make 300 runs consistently. Where are the many other players who are considered "International material" or the label only applies to Miller? Not meaning to start another debate but i smell hypocrisy!

That's just another reason why this Test team is destined for more licks...the selectors delude themselves into saying certain players are not "international" calibre, while at the same time the players who are playing are getting thrashed left, right and centre!
Let Warrican't, Bishoo, and the others take the licks on the international stage....

It's odd that Fuda is on any regional team, when he's just barely making the Guyana team.

In reply to tc1 Ok jackrass, here's standard English: I hope these young players that I like, Delorn Johnson (we share birthdays), Vishal Singh and Gudakesh Motie-khanai, do well! Since, you aren't from the English speaking Caribbean and is confounded by our idiosyncrasies, I'm happy and glad to elucidate.

What happened to Theophile? Another player badly mis-managed, especially when we are still searching for a player to partner with Kraigg at the top if the innings.

It is disappointing that the Selectors did not include some more of the under-nineteen players as some of the guys in the team are over thirty years old. The A team should be about the future and present players trying to get back in the senior team.

In reply to methodic Phil had recommended that Powell captain but Browne had other ideas for his fellow Bajan Brooks, it seems. Last time Powell captained West Indies A in the subcontinent (v India) they won the series but we are talking about selectors who lack basic common sense and are accountable to no one.
