Dwayne Bravo said on Saturday that the current players representing the West Indies against Pakistan is a lost group with many believing that windball cricket is better organised than what they are experiencing with the Caribbean team in Dubai.

“I was there in Dubai and basically the players were lost, the management team was lost, everything just looked like we were school kids again, and the team meetings had no sort of positive inputs or anything like that. It was like we were just there,” an obviously hurt Bravo stated.

Bravo said that while individually the West Indies players were always motivated, the events leading up to the team leaving the Caribbean disturbed the entire momentum of the squad.

“The honest truth is that it is very difficult for a bunch of 15 guys to really switch on when they are leaving for a series and the day of the team travelling they find out that their head coach (Phil Simmons) was fired. Like which organisation in the world would do things like that? This was a coach that had the support of the entire team and one of the best coaches we have had and he has done so much in a short period. Everyone knows that, and we were making positives,” stated Bravo.

Wunna ent got to agree with Bravo, but he sitting form a position of knowing what is going on, some of wunna only speculating.........but time longer than twine, and the twine that some hanging on pun beginning to get weak............I got a good friend in the west indies set-up and he was telling me that same thing, he said the players are for the most part angry at the way the coach was handled.......some saying that Bravo wondered why the WICB took so long to let go Otis, the same Bravo that does communicate with the same Otis, he should know a thing or two about how coaches getting let go will affect a team, even if not in the beginning.........

Maybe so, but he came to his senses re the same Otis, and he seeing things wid eyes wide open as compared to some on the outside with dey eyes wide shut.......Look when someone got to tell you something you more than often take offense until you realise that what he was saying before he left the person that came after him saying the same thing........when Otis left, for the most part the players were reacting exactly the same way, but yuh know what, the public was so glad to see the back of Otis they probably did not take notice.......anyhow more drama on the way so stock up.....

Well said, apologists for the WICB and others- folks who are not necessarily supportive of the WICB, but those who believe players are only workers and must be obedient- and are there are many of those in here, and those in a third camp, for example, those who believe the players earn too much money and they have too much power, these are the ones who keep shooting the messenger- it is they who are also responsible for the decline on WI cricket.

Exactly. And you see the destruction and lack of planning when a 19 year old, who has played a handful of ODIs is asked to bowl the last over. And there is not one fast bowler of any experience or stature on the field who can guide him.

The comments on this thread is all one needs to know to understand the parlous state of West Indies cricket.There is a total lack of understanding of basic human behavior among those who run our cricket, and that is reflected in many of the comments here supportive of the WICB, and critical of the players. Bravo's comments may seem insincere to some. But they are entirely predictable given the recent events in West Indies Cricket. Yet another generation of young cricketers are being sacrificed on the alter of personal ego. You cannot treat people in the cavalier manner this Board has treated its coaches and players, and expect to get high performance. These are not robots. These are people with attitudes, emotions and loyalties. High quality play cannot be switched on and off at whim. The best physical performance comes when the mind is free of anxieties and uncertainties. No paycheck can replace that. And don't talk to me about mental strength. That does not occur in a vacuum either. Until we learn how to treat people, we are doomed.
