Where is your signature red bandana?
I still have them at home. A lot of people thought I was wearing the bandana for style, but the real reason was my helmet was too big in my early years in cricket. I could not find the right-sized helmet, and the one I was using was pretty comfortable. So I had to try and find a way to make sure the helmet fitted properly. That is how I started using the red bandana. All of a sudden it became a trademark and people started sending me bandanas as a gift.

How many did you collect?
Over a hundred - in red and white as well. Fans would write messages on them.

You played some of your finest cricket in Antigua and Barbados. Which of these two venues is your favourite?
Apart from those two venues, my other favourite was Cape Town. It has a really good environment and is a picturesque venue. But, yes, I like Barbados a lot because that was where I made my Test debut, against Pakistan, which had a special bowling attack - Wasim [Akram], Waqar [Younis], Saqlain [Mushtaq]. To perform against those guys was seeing my dream becoming a reality.

It is now 11:30pm and since nothing has been posted on the just concluded between West Indies and Zimbabwe, please allow me to use this subject matter to talk about the game. First, did I say West Indies? If yes, my bad because I meant to say Barbados verses Zimbabwe, since seven of the players, the manager, coach, chief selector, captain, and vice captain are all from Barbados, it is clear that is a Bajan team, as they kissed the west Indies spirit and support, goodbye. As a Caribbean man it was quite natural to root for Barbados, but how painful it was for me! I mean three games the Barbados team lost in a row and all in the last over? Unbelievable! To add insult to injury, captain Holder was in the wicket the last two games and could not win it for his country? Well, you guys got rid of them Trinis and JA's in order to promote the Barbados pride, so I do wish them a peaceful return to Barbados

What a classy player. Some of my happiest sporting memories are watching Ronnie bat and rushing home/to my friends house/to the local pub depending on who had the necessary TC channel!
I hope he is a happy man in retirement
