ST JOHN’S, Antigua – The West Indies Cricket Board (WICB) has made another strategic appointment to its Executive team. This time it is the appointment of Verlyn Faustin as Chief Operating Officer (COO).

Faustin, who is the current Corporate Secretary, will be responsible for the day to day operations of the business, ensuring the organisation has the proper operational controls, administrative and reporting procedures. She will also lead the charge to put people systems in place to effectively grow the organisation and to ensure its financial strength and operational efficiency.

Faustin’s appointment comes at an interesting time in the WICB as the organisation embraces management and operational changes aimed at making the organisation more effective on and off the field. The appointment falls within the time frame that the technical team has been boosted with the appointments of Jimmy Adams and Stuart Law as Director of Cricket and Men’s Head Coach; and Johnny Grave as CEO.

Faustin, an attorney by training has been with the WICB for the last five years and has served as a key member of the Executive team. She retains the role of Corporate Secretary.

President. Dave Cameron, welcomes the appointment. “Verlyn’s previous work is of quality standard, and I have no doubt she will continue along that path. We look forward to her valuable contributions.”

Faustin’s appointment became effective January 1, 2017.

Oh yes COO functions? I'd like to see the entire job description.

Cricket West Indies is certainly not a large and complex organisation and the functions of the COO can easily be handled (subsumed) by the CEO.

Jobs for the boys and girls.

Hiring a COO and it takes about 12 hours or more to get a scorecard of a match played in Antigua

So, WICB top Management comprises a President, Vice President, CEO, COO, Director of Cricket, Chief Executive and 12 Directors!

Is their solution to fixing West Indies cricket 'throw more man-power after the problem'? The rest of the corporate world understand the value of being nimble but we embrace bloat!!

What are their job functions and salaries? In a region not kown for efficient management and administration how does the increase in numbers at the top get West Indies cricket to move forward?

Ride the gravy train guys and gals. And we may never see your tax returns.. Aye...

I am of the opinion that All this Smoke & Mirrors would be unnecessary
if the Big Idiots once and for all decided to change their 1929 Structure
which many Reports they commissioned
stated needed to be changed .

Changing the structure alone aint going to go very far , there needs to be a Mission Statement , that embraces
Transparency ; Accountability ; Good
Governance & Good Interpersonal communication with the Players .

However changing the Structure of the
WICBC aint going to make much of a difference if the Regional Boards are
mainly concerned with Self Preservation , rather than making the
Regional Teams as competitive as they can be .

It is only by doing this that ultimately our International Team ,
in the longer versions of the game
can be fully competitive in the International Cricket Arena .

Does anyone honestly believe that the
Egotistical Emperors in the WICBC ,
who are set in their ways ;would take advice from this COO ????
Frankly this is akin to rearranging
the Chairs on a Ship that is Sinking .
Mark my words , that job is akin to
a poisoned Chalice , The Big Idiots
have now got a person to take ALL the
blame for their Colossal Incompetence .
The question is this :

WILL PEOPLE BUY INTO THIS STRATEGY

WHICH IS STRAIGHT OUT OF

MACHIAVELLIAN PLAYBOOK ??????
