I'll share some FACTS with you, how muddies have been constantly given a second grade treatment and to keep it concise I'll stick with 1995-2017 (22 years).

So after WI lost to Australia in 1995 and post the 1996 World Cup, when the general rebuilding of the team started, there was just one muddie in the scheme of things, i.e. Shiv.

NOW ALMOST EACH AND EVERY MUDDIE WAS GIVEN A RAW TREATMENT

List of Muddies in order of Debut

1998: Clayton Lambert, dropped after 5 Tests (Actually 4, 1 debut test was in 1991) with a batting avg of 31. Just because he failed in 2 consecutive tests in SA against Donald and Co.

1998, Neil McGarrell, dropped despite bowling avg of 26 after 4 tests and 17 wickets. Do you know since McGarrell, WI don't have a single bowler with that kind of average.

1999, Reon King, 19 tests- 53 wickets-Avg-32, whats even more remarkable is his ODI record - 50 ODIS - 76 wickets - Avg: 23 - Eco: 4.16 -- Also Dropped for Bajans

2000, Ronnie Sarwan, 1 of 4 batsmen in last 22 years to AVG 40+ in Tests, was dropped at the peak of his game in 2009-10, to punish him for the 2009 IPL fiasco. the man lost his confidence and was never the same player.

2000, Colin Stuart, Dropped despite having a test avg of 31.4 after 6 Tests. NOTE: All those 6 Tests were Away from Home, 2 in Australia, 2 in Sri Lanka and 2 in Zimbabwe. The man never got a HOME GAME.

2003, Carl Hooper - Dropped as Captain and from Test team after 2003 World Cup, despite avg 45 with the bat as captain.

2005, Narsingh Deonarine, Between 2005 and 2011, he was selected and dropped after a few games. When He did get a run in 2011-13, he was mainly picked for AWAY tours. Out of the 5 series he played in, 4 were tours of Australia, NZ, India and England (possibly toughest places, and then also he got only 1 test in England and India) and only 1 home series in which he AVG.47 with the BAT. His career bowling avg is 29. Least to say, he wasn't handled properly.

No Raw Treatment to Ryan Ramdass, Chatttergoon, Mahendra Nagamootoo

2009, Travis Dowlin, Dropped despite batting avg of 31 after 6 Tests. The man scored 50's against Australia in Perth and Sydney and 2 failures against Saffies at home, was enough to DROP Him, as a punishment for the 2009 Fiasco.

2011, Devendra Bishoo, Dropped in 2012 despite being the emerging player in 2011. No Tests till 2015. He has come back to become the main spinner and attacking bowler.

2012, Assad Fudadin, Dropped after 3 Tests, despite avg of 30.

And here is the Mother of ALL INJUSTICES TO THE MUDDIES:

There is a clear TRACK RECORD of RAW TREATMENT given to MUDDIES and yet people have the gumption to attack them.

(ii) Bishoo lacks variety.
