You heard wrong
The Amazon can easily be bowl out for less than 100 runs in the 2nd innings, with the big boys winning this match for the Pride of Barbados.
Once Pride avoid the follow on and continue to bat on...the match goes into a fourth day.
If Guyana beat Barbados, does that mean they can replace them as team West Indies?

4TH DAY DRAW
In reply to Seechy
Good question! Bajans would never live down a second whipping this season by Guyana, but now Jaguars gone and make that unlikely with their extremely slow batting.
In reply to Norm
Most Cajans that understand the game, would only look at performance by the players.
Too many of the Pride players were on International duties, and the seniors did not lead.
You cannot beat team by scoring only a few centuries and having only a few five wicket hauls by your main bowlers.

That was certainly a significant factor, but what does that say about either the depth of Bdos cricket or its on-field leadership?
Guyana too lent players to the WI and WI A cause during the first class season, but Hemraj stepped in effectively for Hetmeyer, Motie for Bishoo, Shepherd for K Joseph, etc. Rutherford effectively covered for Reifer's absence too. Even Under-19 player Bhaskar Yadram got a couple of games - even if he was out of his depth.
Bdos did not see it fit to play Springer or Chemar Holder, until this match for the latter. Even then, the on-field leadership was strange. Why did Warrican have to wait for 43 overs to bowl in the Guyana second innings, for example? Apparently Chase bowled 10 of the first 30 overs in the Guyana first innings too.
Carter keeps getting match after match, but Guyana dropped "Test player" Chandrika after he couldn't produce. "Test player" Fudadin too could not get back into the team automatically after taking a break for family reasons.
Seems like the Bajan problems run more deeply than just with the availability of players on WI duty.

Saw that article. Good, but not original.

Holder was sent to Australia and n his return he immediately played.
Springer is the mystery. He had to sit down and watch all sorts of batsmen and allrounders play in front him...when he got the one chance he made 14* not out and 50* odd not out, bowled 2 overs and then was dropped.
A young wicket keeper Walcott on his debut match looked good behind the stumps scored 49 and then was dropped.
Yet Carter who played long before Root and Darren Bravo emerged was tried time and time again with a sub 30 ave.
Bajan selectors are not encouraging the youth at all...I think they need to be fired.
