Jags currently up 20-10.

Go Jags!

Am not sure if the Jaguars knew they were playing for a spot in the Superbowl.

Vanilla offense, mistake after mistake in the secondary. Run after run up the middle for 1 yard.

Pass after pass falling just short of the receiver.

No blitzes hardly, four man rush, Gronk out, yet receivers five yards open down the field!

Ugh!

Jags just happy to reach this level it seems...

It didn't matter who won this game, because Minnesota is winning the Superbowl this year. I'm glad it's New England though. They're about to be slaughtered in two weeks time. Hopefully that Vikings defense will bury Tom Brady in the middle of the field, or preferably in his own endzone.

Priapus 2018-01-21 19:26:16

In reply to Devin

That's quite a bold prediction considering it took a rookie mistake for the Vikings to squeeze past the Saints.

I do agree with you though about the Vikings defense.

DukeStreet 2018-01-21 19:27:43

In reply to DevinI hope the Vikes can pull through. The Birds got them down 14-7 so far.

Agreed 100%. Frustrating to watch.
No adjustments half time and come out running the same offense.
Brady had all day to throw and they gave recievers all the room they needed and Grunk was out.

So u r right. I am not sure anyone in that organization from coaches to players new that they were playing for a spot in the Superbowl.

I want to see how long it's going to take Zimmer to bring Bradford in...jeez!

Keenum is missing wide open receivers, all his passes look the same with 0 touch on the ball!

methodic 2018-01-21 20:53:02

In reply to Ayenmol

he is not going to bring him in, it's Keenum's game to lose and it's already lost.

Ayenmol 2018-01-21 21:00:01

In reply to methodic

And that's precisely the kind of stuff that allows the Patriots to dominate this League...Keenum has reached the end of his rope. You have an opportunity to go to the Superbowl and you playing loyalty and emotion. He shoulda put Bradford in from halftime!

The Eagles are a great team with a stud QB who is not even playing...the Vikings are a lucky team that benefited from getting home field advantage due to Rogers injury, I can't believe they are so delusional to stick with a QB who is obviously done!

methodic 2018-01-21 21:06:11

you are right, that is the difference between being a good coach and being a champion coach.

hubert 2018-01-21 21:11:14

Happy for the Eagles and their fans. God help us taxpayers in Philly if they win their first Super Bowl.
The Stadium holds 70k and I understand that over 20K are outside tailgating.
Next thing they will require a new 100k Stadium. The old JFK seated 120k and this one is built almost on the
same site.
The old Veteran Stadium which was torn down for current one, seated 60k.
But for a loser City sad I guess they will deserve bigger digs for the long suffering fans.
Meanwhile my Giants...oh well.
lol lol lol

The guys been sulking from the second quarter, he is numb in the pocket, his footwork is terrible and he is staring down receivers...Mike Zimmer is a coward and he will never be back on this stage!

Devin 2018-01-21 21:15:38

I don't give a shit who wins this game, New England will get nuked in the SB.

hubert 2018-01-21 21:19:44

I just hope the Underdog Fans don't tear up the City tonite. In
any case this place will be abnormal for the next two weeks..bedlam.
But I plan to survive, just not leaving my neck of the woods for a few days.

Philly was the best team all year. Wentz is good, very good.

Ayenmol 2018-01-21 21:43:32

Mike Zimmer just rolled over in a Conference championship game. They came in with a plan that never materialized and dude just through in the towel. Not a single move to try and spark his team!

I find that repuulsive.

carl0002 2018-01-21 23:04:23

Well my football done for the year cuz I am not prepared to watch new England win or another team gift wrap another Superbowl for the Patriots.

Tryangle 2018-01-22 09:57:31

As the resident Jaguars fan, this game was right there for the taking.

Sure, the easy way out could be to call out the refs for the dubious PI on Bouye, or blowing the whistle too quickly on the Jack fumble recovery.

But no. My team abandoned the offensive creativity that stymied the Pats in the first half. Corey Grant? Didn't call his number in the second half. Our 6'8" TE Marcedes Lewis? Nope. Bortles was not given free reign to do anything creative. Bootlegs, QB keepers, nope.

And on defense, the Pats added protection up front. My team only blitzed once the second half. Jack sacked Brady on that play. But for whatever reason we played a relatively basic defense, and if Brady has time, he *will* find an open man.

The third-and-eighteen conversion was a massive letdown. A LB blitz up the middle would have forced a quick pass and not given Amendola time to find a gap.

It's tough. My Jags played well but I feel coaching let them and the fans down when we could have put a foot on their throats.

People say the future is bright, but come on. Making the Superbowl is tough. 31 other teams are hungry. It was right there in front of us. There's no guarantee this squad will be back in the title game.

It stings.

Brady VI coming up razz

DirtyDan 2018-01-22 22:13:39

Didn't see the Jags - Pats, how was the referee? Jags had 9 penalties called for just less than 100 yards while Pats had one (1) for 10.

DukeStreet 2018-01-22 22:56:56

In reply to DirtyDan
Lots of phantom calls against the Jags and non against Brady and company.

imusic 2018-01-23 02:15:25

The Pats are one well coached team. Bellichick must be bitterly disappointed that his team was called for a penalty though. They were lucky to get away with such indiscipline

DukeStreet 2018-01-23 03:45:51

In reply to imusic

The mistake the Jags made was to cruise in the 2nd half. They had their proverbial foot on the Pats neck the whole 1st half but then took their feet off the gas in the 2nd. They should have learned from what the Falcons did in last year SB but apparently not.

I think the key to victory for the Eagles will be to turn their superior defensive line loose against Brady. Blitz with impunity and allow Foles to play within himself and they should have no problem. Make no mistake, though, the X-factor, is Belichick.

cool

They was my team from early. When Natrone freaking Means was the lead back. When they went into Denver and shut that cocky squad up.

Why are all Patriot big games followed by discussions on officiating?

Remember when Tennessee beat them three times in a season? Twice in the regular season and then in the playoffs. I think those were the only losses Jacksonville suffered that season.

Eagles fans have to be some of the most abhorrent in all of sports. Talk about an absolutely disgusting lot. They greeted Vikings fans walking towards the stadium by cursing them and throwing beer bottles at them.

I posted about this on Facebook. These fu#kers would actually make you support New England.

DukeStreet 2018-01-23 09:32:25

In reply to Devin

Yep. They are, by far, the rowdiest and roughest fans to be around. Any 'Skins fans showing up in Philly had better travel 3 or 4 deep or they will make you feel the pain.

Philly fans booed Santa Claus at the stadium once

Tryangle 2018-01-23 09:55:09

In reply to Devin

Yep, your memory is correct. Damn Titans. All the talk (deservedly so) was on the Rams and Greatest Show on Turf, and the SB had a crazy finish, but that was the year the Jags beat all-comers,... except one. Without the Music City Miracle, who knows what could've happened in '99 smile

I've heard all the crazy stories about Iggles fans over the years. Oddly enough, the Eagles fans I know in Bermuda are a pretty tame and pleasant lot.

Where have you been. Philly sports fans have the worst reputation across all major sports. Dem even booed Santa Clause. The city of brotherly love aint that brotherly.

The Amendola headbutt I didn't notice myself, but seems like another miss by the officiating crew. On the flip side the refs could have flagged Myles Jack for throwing White down after he crossed the endzone line.

It is what it is. Now if the front office reviews the game and decides to levy a fine to Amendola later on...
