The Amnesty Plan - Pollard

Pacy 2018-02-02 00:04:39

Some of us would have had a full discussion with the CWI CEO [Johnny Grave]. Some things were mentioned in terms of, 'we can be flexible.' That we could play four or five games of Super50, and then we could go play the T20 leagues, then come back. None of that came to fruition.

Also, as per the CWI policy, if any player leaves the Super 50, his team is not allowed seek any replacement. T&T already had [Sunil] Narine, who is currently playing for them in the Super50, but will leave later in the tournament for the PSL. So, say if I were to play the Super50, T&T would have lost two players without replacements. I talked about this during my chat with T&T coach.

So it is discussed with the CEO who says that they can be flexible playing part of Super 50. But selectors say if you allow that you would not have replacements for those players.

No one called me. Or you are telling me indirectly that I am free to ply my trade on the T20 circuit because I am not going to be considered for West Indies. That was the question I posed to him [Browne].

He tried to explain that guys were contacted. I said, 'listen, let's not play games, let's be straight, let's be men.' As [Dwayne] Bravo said he spoke to Jason Holder [West Indies' ODI captain]. 'There are couple of other guys the chairman would have personally spoken with. No one spoke to me. Where do I stand?' He then said, 'you'll have to go back and play Super50 tournament. You will have to trust the selectors.'

Amnesty plan is created and the targeted players are not even discussed with... So efficient

In times of such trust deficiency administration feels that without communication, Without Contract, without future career planning players will be running to play for them. So is their expectation and they come out and say they are disappointing.

In the past communications on how "Hillarie" fought tooth and nail to cover all his bases before accepting the CEO's job for WICB (Where he was preaching commitment before money) were all in the forum. I dont still find it wrong. That since it is natural for any individual. But only with the players why is a different yardtick and they are expected to leave everything and come at the call of the selectors.

If they ditch couple of leagues believing these WI selectors they could lose their current and future earning opportunities.

Yeah maintain policy but shift the blame. Replacement player rule not part of amnesty prime example of inflexibility.

The "Amnesty plan" was a mirage for public perception building. Theme is clear.

"Players are greedy and selfish. CWI is doing all it can to include them"

While actually CWI does all in its power to ensure the select players are excluded.

Like..could they just be that incompetent?

To not be able to implement an amnesty "policy" change effectively?

I think so.
Because surely this couldn't be deliberate..so they think everybody stupid?

They think we needed Pollard to explain it to us?

It was apparent after that TNT fellar came out defending Bravo's omission that the policy was inflexible and no amnesty at all

You are spot on.

It is truly amazing how inept, vindictive, nasty and evil this fake organization called "Cricket West Indies" cancer is.
