Courtney watch de dot ball %age when selecting

DIEHARD 2018-02-02 15:20:43

Your ODI batters..not dere forking pants size..stop watch man figure!!

Rakeem going expose your stupidity in omitting him repeatedly from our ODI side!!!

DIEHARD 2018-02-05 08:15:28

Bump..

Cornwall...39 dot balls in 94 deliveries faced.

whats the forking point of being a fit batsman..when you striking at 70 and less, and have a dot ball %age >50.

I swear...how can we continue to omit this guy when we suck so bad in ODIs.

Shouldn't runs scored quickly be the only thing that matters?

We have had ODI teams packed with guys who accumulate more dot balls than runs..but yet.

There is so much idiocy rampant in WI cricket, and lack of common sense..KMT

What will you say when he starts to tire against Steve Smith or Virat Kohli when they hitting it all over the SCG or Eden Gardens and he is too unfit to run after the ball let alone prevent the ball going to the boundary?? You forget that he had a huge scuffle with Pollard about his same lack of fitness last CPL when he "retired hurt" because he was tired in a T20 game? He has been on specialist diet and fitness programs through WICB in various countries around the world for almost 3 years now.

Why should every other international player in the world have to maintain strict fitness guidelines and past fitness tests ahead of a series and Jimbo be exempt? As if West Indies aren't laughed at by world cricket already, you now asking to show us up further with a man mountain that is unfit and will be scrutinised for lack of fitness and health concerns by the ICC and the global media. Same way you all shouted that Blackwood had a brain twisted twisted

That only counts in close games..maybe u havent been following our ODI team much, but we havent had any close games in a while, our batsmen cannot get us to 300, which is minimum score for modern ODIS

Same way you all shouted that Blackwood had a brain

Please...i hopped off the Blackwood train ages ago.

He's a waste of a pick, and will waste no time on discussing him

And once again..its commmon sesnse.

Give the man that will retire "tired" after he make a 100 off 80 balls, with a dot ball %age <50.

Rather than Mr. Fit who bat the entire innings..soaking up dot ball after dot ball..and make 70 off 100 balls, is common sense to me really.

Runs and wickets count in cricket.

We have a piss poor ODI team, and have been struggling to find competent batsmen to represent us, it would be a different thing if we had a couple good selections and more on the bench

How much running does Gayle do in the field? How much does Samuels do? How active in de field is Kesrick Williams? The current VC has been a liability in the field. Find something else to bash de man for.

Our current VC is a waste pick, we cannot afford both him, Shai and Marlon in the middle order.

All three have a high dot ball percentage, dunno how far we expect to get with that middle order..it needs serious revamping

doosra 2018-02-05 08:43:00

Cornwall will bowl as well

he could be a late order minimum

the guy is a slip fielder, is a better player than Nurse.

For a man who is not fit he has run 101 of his runs with the other 172 coming in boundaries. And dat eh counting running other batsmen's runs. No other player has ran as many runs as him in de tournament thus far and dey supposed to be fitter.

The players with higher strike rates have scored less dan half his runs combined

Cornwall is a bowler first, batsman 2nd.

Teams needs a player like him, also Keemo Paul or Mayers.
Men who can bowl 10 overs and hit the ball long in the latter half of the innings.

Well..imagine that..this bowler putting all we batsmen to shame.

But true, he doesnt play om the top 6, anywhere between 7 & 9 ideally.

Holder is a lock at 7 as skipper.

So Cornwall either is the other all-rounder at 8, or the main spinner at 9, ...I'd prefer him fill the all rounder role at 8.

Lewis
Hetmyer
Sope
Mohammed
Ambris
Chase/Rovwell
Cornwall
Holder
Paul/Reifer/Mayers/Rovwell
Bishoo/Nurse
Gabriel/Roach/Cummins

Thats how my team would be excluding the seniors.

He only looks for nationality.

In reply to Andy99

Yikes..Chase, JMo and Sope...they would have to show marked improvement in rotating the strike for me to bog down the middle order with all that.

But..if its the best we have..its the best we have

Just can't think of another batsman first, with allround ability, other than Chase tbh.
But thats how I want to build my team.

Mohammed, Chase batsmen who can bowl.
Holder, one of the pace allrounder and Cornwall bowlers who can bat.
And then u go with 2 bowlers.
Can even drop the specialist spinner or pacer and go with one of the other all rounder or batsman at times.

If you had a brain you would actually be dangerous. There should be an archive for dummy posts and yours would surely make the top 10 each time.

Good point re Nurse, i don't dispute that he is the better of the two but Nurse has the advantage of being slimmer and having relatives on the management team big grin

DIEHARD 2018-02-05 15:03:48

Evin's dot ball percentage was worrying..even though he scored a bills at more than a run a ball.

47 dot balls from 93 deliveries...24 singles.

Cornwall's ton seems to be what u want from an ODI batsman....if the boundaries dry up..he'll still score
