Hold a TOWN HALL TYPE meeting Regarding :
THE STATE OF WEST INDIES CRICKET
Invite the Members of the WICBC/CWI
and ALL the Regional Board Members to
this Town Hall Meeting and naturally
the General Public .
If the Emperors in the WICBC/CWI refuse to come to this Meeting it would tangibly demonstrate to the
General Public that the Emperors are
Narcissistic , Egotistical; and
Dictatorial . At this Town Hall Meeting the Regional Boards must also
be invited .Those who fail to attend
will demonstrate that they are Unfit
to be Members of their respective Cricket Boards .
Obviously the General Public must be
invited so that they can see & hear
what the WICBC/CWI & the various Cricket Boards have to say about
the Drastic Decline & Competitiveness of West Indies in the International
Cricket Arena .

It is Time that the Regional Governments >>>>>>>
In reply to POINT
And what would it demonstrate if the general public don't show up?
In reply to POINT
Ok POINT have to call u out on this.
Nothing else needs to be done to tangibly demonstrate that the CWI is narcissistic, egotistical and dictatorial.
They've already ignored the governments and told them where to get off..so..
In reply to FuzzyWuzzy
It is quite evident that You have a pessimistic Perspective . I am optimistic that People will show up.
Bangladesh being ahead of us is incentive for people to show up . BTW
the General Public is not invited to
Meetings of the Worst International Cricket Board in the Commonwealth ; aka the WICBC , OR CWI aka Cricket
Worst Idiots .
In reply to POINT
You are either a dreamer or a stand up comedian.
De same Governments who recently had de opportunity to tell CWI to stick it over dere outrageous demands for Countries wishing to host the Women's World Cup?
Guess wat, 3 ah dem rush and sign while de others were disputing de conditions.
De same Governments who agreed to a Cruise Passenger Tax den go home and find all kinda excuses not to implement?
You kave to be joking.
In reply to POINT
Mr.POINT, your tenacity must be admired but the outlook for Caribbean Gov't unifying to deal with West Indies cricket is slim to none.
Right now Mr.Jimmy Adams is trying to turn things around and who knows, he may succeed..
In reply to Maispwi
I get your point , no pun intended ;
however Something MUST BE DONE .
Cricket in the Region simply cannot
go on with this Mess .
I have never stated that I have all the answers , the one thing that I am very sure of is the fact that the Mimic Men in the governance of West Indies Cricket have been , and are
responsible for the non competitiveness of Our Players in the International Cricket Arena .
What is truly appalling is that the
Mimic Men seem unable or willing to change their Modus Operandi . Currently WE await the recommendations of the Wehby Committee , which is likely to be discarded as all the Others have been
deep sixed .
In reply to Star
It is the Mindset of those in the
governance of West Indies Cricket that
has ruined Cricket in the Region .
In reply to Star
Things have started, not only by Mr Adams, but Mr Grave seems to trying to make headway, POINT wants a talk shop, but West Indies cricket needs action, it needs more revenue, the PCL needs further expansion, i would love to see 2 more franchises added within the next 5 years, need to get the fans back at FC games improve gate revenues, introduce merchandising, standard of pitches
Lots of work
In reply to Maispwi
Enlightening.
In reply to POINT
Looks like the governments are impotent too.
We just need to take out WICB.
Form an action group!
In reply to POINT
We need a total boycott of the WICBC, this will include, inter alia:
1. Boycott all WICBC sanctioned events
2. Governments to withhold the use of stadiums
3. Non issuance of permits
4. Tax the WICBC
5. Conduct legal Tax audits of all WICBC officers, directors and all the regional boards
6. Block regional and international travel of all officers and directors of the WICBC and the
territorial boards
7. Discourage corporate sponsorship
8. Place economics and trade sanctions against any CARICOM governments who violate CARICOM sanctions
In reply to Emir
You know how the region works, you can always find a minister will to take a little something on the side to facilitate a particular venture.
Barbados was the preferred headquarters for Allan Stanford when Bim said nah Antigua rolled out the red carpet.
CWI will find the those willing to "play ball" as their is no union within the political region only opportunism.
In reply to rubberd
Yeah, I know Antigua.
It is why I believe CARICOM sanctions- including sanctions against its leaders mist be something that CARICOM must explore against Antigua.
Things like ban on airline flights, shipping, exports and imports, banking, personal sanctions on their leaders etc will get them on straight path.
The region cannot have a dot like Antigua ruin the region.
Is the West Indies a country?
West Indies cricket takes up about 5% of a regional government's time.
Cricket is being boycotted by the fans, without placards.
Just watch the empty seats or closed sections during tournaments.
In reply to Emir
I agree with what You have expressed , however Antigua may no be involved , its Prime Minister & the WICBC/CWI
President of the WICBC are Buddies .
My understanding is that Antigua &
the WICBC/CWI have shares in the Cricket Ground formerly owned by Stanford .
My take is that Cricket in the Region
simply cannot go on as it currently is indefinitely . In my opinion , the
WICBC/CWI must be completely Reformed
in Personnel & its Current Constitution If WE want progress in
Cricket .
THOSE IN THE GOVERNANCE MUST REALIZE
THAT THEY CANNOT DEMAND RESPECT WHEN
THEY ARE NOT RESPECTFUL TO THE
PLAYERS .
Many People sadly seem blithely unaware that WE currently are in the
21st Century , not the 20th Century
when there a Big Uproar regarding the
Selection of Frank Worrell to be the Captain of the West Indies Team ; due to the fact that previous Captains of
the West Indies Team were of a different Pigmentation from Worrell .
In reply to Emir
Very Good Observation , and right on point .
THE REAL QUESTION IS THIS ; WAS THE
WEST INDIES A COUNTRY WHEN OUR
PLAYERS WERE THE BEST IN THE WORLD ???
When West Indies cricket was on top, governments were not involve in decisions., but fans were filling every stadium.
Economies has gone through a down turn since then, youngsters , now have social networks, along with other sports to occupy their time.
Cricket has become the second class citizen, by many youngsters
We just saw T&T and Barbados, declining tournaments, which was not in their interest, other governments will do the same.
In reply to hawk
The purpose of discussing is so that
eventually EVERYONE , or most People
would be on the same Page , in the Pews , Singing the same Hymn .
Obviously this should easily bring about clarity and decision making would be easier , than having Some
People in the Pews singing different
Hymns .
In essence a Cacophony of discordant
noises would hopefully be avoided .
My take is this :
IF THE MEMBERS OF THE WORST
INTERNATIONAL CRICKET BOARD IN THE
COMMONWEALTH FAIL TO SHOW ; THAT
WOULD TANGIBLY DEMONSTRATE TO THE
GENERAL PUBLIC THAT THE MIMIC MEN
REALLY DO NOT GIVE A DAMN ABOUT WEST
INDIES CRICKET .
Let me remind ALL & Sundry that possibly with the exception of the
Stadium in Antigua ; the WICBC /CWI
is not in control of Cricket Stadia in the Region .
I cite this to demonstrate that the
main issue is if the Governments in the Region have the Courage to summon
up their Testicular Fortitude to do
something positive for West Indies
Cricket .
In reply to DIEHARD
Sadly WE have to try making the Mimic
Men see reality despite their many flaws .
Perhaps , just perhaps they may have a
Saul on the Road to Damascus enlightenment . WE simply cannot with
this Incompetence .
In reply to Maispwi
I am not joking , however I understand
what you have stated . Our Problem is
that the various Governments in the Region refuse to understand a BASIC fundamental TRUTH , which is :
" UNITY IS STRENGTH "
It is quite evident that THEY learned
absolutely nothing from the Defunct
WEST INDIES FEDERATION .
In my opinion , Once again in the Regional Governments fail to seriously address Cricket in the Region , they would in my opinion ,
signal the death of Cricket in the Region .
