Bat 44.25 after 27 matches with 3 centuries and 3 50's. Then his bowl average 26.25/ econ 3.25/ s/r 48.3.
What more must he do that he has not done already?

done enough to get an ODI look in
still needs to up his FC average
In reply to doosra
FC I agree. LIST A you would be hard pressed to find anyone with better allround figures.

Why relax?
In reply to voiceofreason
Cornwall has definitely earned some consideration from the selectors.
In reply to voiceofreason
let him continue to work on his weight loss and fitness...he can put off another 50 this year and that will erase any doubts
In reply to voiceofreason
he has made his case.
In reply to voiceofreason
His hands are still on his knees when the batsman is playing a stroke when he's in the slips, and they only put him in slips because he really can't field anywhere else. You know in top level ODI's his fitness will be exposed, you sure you want to take that risk?
In reply to Larr Pullo
If you have to pick either he or Nurse who would you go with?
In reply to Larr Pullo
I do not think WI are losing matches due to their fielding deficiencies at the moment
In reply to camos
I really think Cornwall is very talented and he seems to be a hell of a bowler, but right now I'd pick Chase.
In reply to Pacy
Oh so you looking to add one more reason to the plethora of reasons that we're losing matches...
In reply to Larr Pullo
Chase stays ,he takes the spot that Nurse has.
If a 'fit looking' player was doing what Cornwall has been doing the past couple of years he would definitely be in the WI senior team mix. It is still OK to be prejudiced against overweight people in sports.

LOSE WEIGHT
In reply to voiceofreason... a see leman first me.
In reply to Oilah... NOT THE NFL.
In reply to leman
the game does not have weight restrictions, this is a non quantitative standard to protect your own!
In reply to Larr Pullo
I understand your concern and it is noteworthy. I too share the same concern but he is committed to losing weight and to lose 28 lbs is no easy feat. How long can we continue to ignore his performances though when our International team languishes at the bottom of the table and are in danger of not making the World cup for the first time in its History? I say play him now.

Now you guys know how the Shiv fan-base feels....
In reply to Larr Pullo
I believe his contribution with bat and Ball will offset his fielding issues if at all he has any
In reply to RemainsUnknown
you talking to the wrong person about Shiv!

lol
In reply to Larr Pullo
If i were batting he woyld be a constant source of easy siingles....if in the outfield. ....he would be milked.

Which ODI should he have been selected to play in and was not selected?
I think that Cornwall and Paul should be in the mix when it comes to ODI team selection. Paul has shown an astonishing level of maturity for someone still shy of his 20th birthday. He would bring to the team a winning attitude. Rutherford is not that far behind and it really is surprising that Guyana is producing so many fast bowlers these days.
In reply to Dukes
Agreed. I like what I am seeing of all three you mentioned.

I do not think there are better all-round List A figures of players presently playing for WI. Nothing, but unfounded bias keeps locking the door for this class young man.
