Lloyd was an avid Cricket Fan , and was
a Friend of mine . He was also my Barber, and WE were both Members of the Same Sports Club .
However Lloyd's claim to fame was the fact that he was Winston Davis's Coach ,
during Winston Davis's stellar but brief
career in West Indies Cricket .
It was Lloyd who coached Winston Davis
by marking out a Strip , with bowling crease ; batting crease and the corridor of uncertainty et ; and having Winston bowl to three Stumps
every morning .
BTW Winston Davis in 1983 in Australia
took 7 wickets for 51 Runs . It was
unfortunate for Winston Davis that he
was overshadowed by a battery of West Indies Pace Bowlers .
On the other side of the most picturesque Cricket Ground in the World , past the E T Joshua Airfield is the Sion Hill Playing Field . This
Playing Field was Lloyd Lewis's creation , and it was there that he
Coached Winston Davis .
I sincerely hope that the Authorities
would see fit to rename the Sion Hill
Playing Field to the Lloyd Lewis
Playing Field . May Lloyd Lewis
Rest in Peace .

I have no doubt that in the Region there are many unsung Heroes , in SVG
lloyd Lewis was one of them .
He was the Junior Partner in a Barber Shop that was owned by a famous Sportsman in SVG . Vincent Hadaway , who represented St. Vincent in a match against a Barbados Team that
included Frank Worrell , who was cleaned bowled by Frank Mason .
Both Vincent Hadaway & Lloyd Lewis
were Founding Members of Saints Club ; Hadawy migrated to Brooklyn , and I was one of his Customers there .When
I went to SVG , I went to Lloyd's Barber Shop .
Hadaway died some years ago , however
the Members of Saints Club owe a Debt
of Gratitude to both these two Gentlemen Especially since Saints is
still a functioning Entity in SVG
Cricket .

Thank You , Lloyd Lewis & Vincent Hadaway , were really Great Guys to be around . Vincent was a Good Cricketer
& Footballer .
Lloyd was never a Player of Cricket or Football but they attended Meetings , and before the Club had a ClubHouse Meetings of the Club were held at the Barber Shop .

I will see if Michael Findlay can
influence those in charge to make that
happen . BTW Michael Findlay is still
active in functioning of Saints Cricket Team .
It really does not these days meet what I would define as a Club . Because WE no longer have a Clubhouse
to have meetings .
Many of the Members migrated , so it
Cricket that is played these days . When I was living in SVG from 2000 to
2005 I went to all their games .
Rommel Currency ; his brother , Sunil
Ambris & their Father were on the Saints Cricket Team , and the Secretary Foster Huggins is very active in ensuring that that the Team
runs smoothly .
The Invisible Man , Kenroy Peters is also a Member of the Club , on my recent trip to SVG , I was only able to talk to Foster Huggins & Michael Findlay . The Invisible Man is currently visible in Australia
playing Cricket .
