South Africa have won the toss and have opted to field

I'm here at the game

Nohit Sharma out first over
India

1/4

shivnotout 2018-02-07 06:16:25

out Caught by Klaasen!! Duck for Rohit. Another failure for him in this series. Length delivery outside off, comes back sharply and catches Rohit's inside edge as he looks to leave it. Klaasen takes a sharp low catch behind the wicket and Rohit has to walk back. Excellent opening over by Kagiso Rabada.

shivnotout 2018-02-07 06:17:42

Kohli has been adjudged lbw! But the Indian skipper has decided to review it straightaway. Looks out to the naked eye though. Was there an inside edge? RTS has picked up something and the third umpire is happy to go with the technology. Not Out!

india 13-1

On the TV, it looks like a good crowd.

The selectors were right to rest Morkel. One wicket from two matches at 5.90. Not been great. He needs a rest with the Tests against Australia coming up.

djdrastic 2018-02-07 06:41:08

In reply to mikesiva

Pity that DRS against Kohli went against us.Must have been mighty fine edge.Didn't hear a thing.

Yeah Gibson is better off rotating bowlers for form and and finding a decent combo.Morkel hasn't been great thus far.

Just too many loose balls today however.

In reply to shivnotout

Not a thing.

shivnotout 2018-02-07 07:05:06

In reply to djdrastic

A huge inside edge saves the skipper. Even he wasn't aware that he'd edged it. A length delivery on middle and leg, Kohli attempts a flick and gets an inside edge onto his pads. Umpire who had adjudged this out has to over-turn his decision. Kohli survives. Ian Gould does not seem convinced, he was sure that there was no inside edge, but technology proves him wrong. Big moment in the game!

fixed. wink

india 71-1

Why did you choose to go to a one-day match when you know damn well that your Test team is so much better than your ODI side?
razz
After 1983, the West Indies ODI side went into decline, but we continued to rule the roost in Tests for another decade. In that 10 year period, I didn't go to a single ODI at Sabina Park, but I attended half a dozen Tests....

shivnotout 2018-02-07 07:20:23

FOUR, fifty for Shikhar Dhawan! His 25th in ODIs. Flighted delivery on middle and leg, gets down and sweeps it through fine leg to reach the milestone

Duminy to Rahane, out Caught by Phehlukwayo!! This is a disappointing shot from Rahane. He's overused the footwork today. Charges down the track again, is sucked into playing a delivery that's drifting away and pops the leading edge to mid-off, who backtracks, arches back, and takes it overhead.

Rahane c Phehlukwayo b Duminy 11(13)

shivnotout 2018-02-07 09:02:11

out Caught by Lungi Ngidi!! This was on the cards. 10 off 21 balls and the pressure was on Dhoni to up the ante. Shimmies down the wicket and is deceived by the googly, the ball dips in front of him and turns in, Dhoni c Lungi Ngidi b Tahir 10

48.3
Chris Morris to Kohli, SIX, caught and Miller slides over the boundary rope. All bottom hand from the Indian skipper. Waited in the crease for the length delivery and pumped it wide of long-on. Excellent stuff from Miller, who covered ground and caught it with both hands, the momentum took him over the ad cushions

Narper 2018-02-07 09:42:11

49.1
Rabada to Kohli, 1 run, 150 for Kohli. He's tired. No energy to lift his bat and acknowledge.

djdrastic 2018-02-07 09:49:10

Well played to extras today.

shivnotout 2018-02-07 09:52:27

49.6
Rabada to Kohli, FOUR, India breach the 300-mark. Some of the South Africans walk up to congratulate the Indian skipper. He walks off to a standing ovation. Finishes the innings with a boundary. Full delivery and Kohli is deep in the crease, drills it past the bowler and mid-off inside the ring had no chance

49.5
Rabada to Kohli, SIX, majestic! Shot of a batsman in top form. Uses the depth of the crease to create something. Waited back and transfered his weight to muscle the pull over deep mid-wicket. That came right off the screws

india 303-6 50 ova

djdrastic 2018-02-07 09:57:59

Lol I thought the batting is the only worry in this team.Jeez that was a pretty pathetic bowling display. The only guy who could bowl to his field the entire innings was Duminy.

Kholi ; Masterclass again.

mikesiva 2018-02-07 10:13:17

It's a good thing Duminy retired from Test cricket. He seems to play better in limited overs cricket.

Ngidi and Phehlukwayo were the most expensive.

Ball really cracking off Duminys blade so far though I think India got around 50 too many for us to realistically chase this.

shivnotout 2018-02-07 11:23:57

out Stumped!! He's taken care. Oh my, this is turning into a bamboozling gif. The perfect drift, drawing Markram out. Obliged with a walk. Plays for the turn coming in too. Only for it to rip away, beat the edge. There's Dhoni behind though, throwing out instructions. He better read it. Markram st Dhoni b Kuldeep Yadav 32

But I can see what he means.

However, you guys need rain don't you? This is only good for cricket!

Klaasen in now.

Klaasen out plumb for six completely missing. If he is the next best keeper then the selectors must be praying for de Kock to recover before the Australian team turns up.

It just so happens that south Africa have a very good test team but a poor limited overs side. Remember that the test side is ranked second in the world and they just beat top ranked India 2-1. Surely you haven't forgotten already?

No I haven't forgotten that they beat India 2-1. That was a well played series. However they do not have bench depth...if you see their back-up...they are a way distant from the first ups. Be it test or ODI.

I see this team being transformed 5 love for the ODI series. Its not even a contest tbqh.

On the flip side we can probably bid on hosting a world cup based on the current team composition which would be nice.Haven't hosted a 50 over one since the early aughties.

runout 2018-02-07 13:39:56

In reply to Narper

Bumrah soften de-cock...and pace and bounce took care of Faf and AB...Lungi and Phehlukwayo seems to be annointed a bit too soon for their own good.

Zondo didn't look the part.

Klassen should be the back up to the back-up.

Tahir seems like a deer in a headlight...he can't even buy a wicket.

Rabada has lost his pixie dust.

Markram appears clueless with his captaincy...early days yet, but he deosn't seem sure about himself.
I hope the real Sout Africa shows up before this tour is over.
