Saffies are not Students of the Game

Otis needs to house clean.
They look a poor side
India have dominated with bat and ball after the much vaunted pace attack wilted under the Kohli hammer

Surely, they couldn't have been transformed from the greatest bowling attack, to poor. That in a matter of weeks?

Kohli have them under manners
Not even coach Gibbo can save them.
Where is AB something is not right

I am surprised that the Saffies have folded like cheap metal...I understand that Faf and AB are out, but they should give a better account for themselves.

There's something else worrying me a bit.

I looked at them doing fielding drills before the game and it was like amateur hour out there.Morne throwing a ball back to someone at the coaching staff and nearly hitting the tv crew covering the Indian camp on the other side of the pitch.

Zondo doing high catching drills and dropping probably every ball sent out to him.

Indian camp looked like a well run unit.

Interesting..... they seem woefully short on confidence and ideas

Gibson was hired to win 2019 WC! He will be given enough rope to hang himself with until then.

Dude, Mohandas is a miracle worker. In 3 months he transformed a potent Saffies attack into one of the greatest attacks in the world. Before then he made England one of the most feared side. He took the West Indies and developed a battery of quicks. And then just two weeks ago, he emasculated the most feared attack...is Mohandas working for Team India?

Rabada needs to be rested or he will be burnt out soon

Yeah, his workload should be managed properly.

To be fair, having ABD in the side would've made this series a very different affair.

Right..he would have strengthened their bowling, lending more credibility to Virat's runs. big grin

big grin big grin big grin

His presence would change the psyche of the Indian players.

runout 2018-02-07 15:19:52

What is glaring is the lack of intent from the bowlers, except Rabada, when they are bowling, and the batsmen when they are at the wicket. No one seems able to decipher the Indian attack. And even DJ says that they look amateurish at warm-ups. Seems like Mohandas have a lot of work to do with this lot ...

Seems like they want some guidance from India..just like how Mandela learnt from Gandhi..

If you want to see how to develop the youths in a team and create depth in a squad, then please read Rahul Dravid's take on his coaching of the U-19 team. The man is like a master strategist: psychologist, mentor, counselor, coach, friend, the whole bit. Allowing the players to develop their own approach to their game, whilst fixing their flaws, and challenging them to get the best out of their game...

Dravid should never be the coach of Team India...he should stick with the U-19 squad...perhaps, even the U-15. The kids learning curve will grow exponentially, and they will be better players in their own right..

Well said, re: Dravid.
