Does Pybus' role encroach on Jimmy's job functions?

So Pybus does not renew his contract as Director of West Indies Cricket and Jimmy is appointed the new director.

Now Pybus is now back but his job functions look very familiar to that of the role Director of Cricket.

An impeccable source has communicated to me, that his initial understanding of Pybus' appointment was to oversee the management of the Stanford Cricket Centre. It seems there has been a change of plan at CWI.

Let me quote from CWI's media release on the appointment of Pybus:

"In this new role, Pybus will work alongside the Chairman of Selectors and all the technical coaches in the region to improve the high performance programmes and standards within franchise cricket. His role will also include, but not limited to standardizing coaching and preparation for regional teams and overseeing a talent identification programme from the Under-19 level all the way to the WINDIES International level."

Is this not seriously overlapping or encroaching on Jimmy Adams' job functions? Is Jimmy Adams being systematically undermined?

Perhaps our poster Star can shed some light on this as it appears to me, there is significant encroachment on Jimmy Adams' territory.

I hope this is not the case.

Let me say from the outset that I am in no way promoting racism here, I will never under any circumstances promote racism, I am not a racist and I will never be a racist...but my source tells me and I am posting his very words:

"...the talk among the wicb staff is getting louder that is pure white man being hired because they will not try to rock the boat and challenge the powers that be."

Jimmy has done absolutely nothing since he has been there but collect his salary. I wonder how he feels as a good Christian to be getting paid under false pretences.

I don't recall an administrator ever leaving WICB/CWI and later returning. As hubert said, Tricky Dick must have some dirt on someone. And I know who it is smilesmilesmile

The Indian tour fiasco left egg yolk on a number of faces of men in the hierarchy as well as well built ass defences.

Star?? The same fella who accused me of lying when I said I never saw Sobers play cricket after learning that I was 9 years old when Sobers played his last Test?

The Tricky One and Dave being the chief egg yolk consumers.

But I thought Muirhead had a major role with that Antigua High Performance facility. Tricky Dick replace he too??

Logic 2018-02-09 08:25:45

All these managers, coaches, cricket directors, programme directors, CEOs, marketing directors, etc etc etc...

What about giving some of that money to the players instead?

In societies and organisations where it is the norm to be accountable, these inefficiencies in India would be inexcusable and unpardonable.

A typical top heavy and inefficient organisation with well paid chefs.

What about an assistant to Jimmy (reports directly to Jimmy) who oversees the High Performance Centre...isn't this a more functional arrangement?

It did not escape me that Pybus will be working with Jimmy instead of reporting to him. As they say in Bim, that's bare foolishness

To be honest what has Jimmy done, he has not even written a memo

If Jimmy has done little and I am not saying that he has not been productive on the job...don't blame him...this is why there is periodic performance review. This process should take care of poor workers and reward excellent ones.

It seems Richard Pybus is appointed as high performance director at the Academy, and Adams is Director of cricket.
Different roles

Support staff is needed, most professional teams, have coaches for all positions.
