Guyana Jaguars vs Kent
Guyana 4/0 3.0ovrs
Shiv 2 Hemraj 1
Kent bowlers pushing the interpretation of one day wide
Hemraj Im afraid does not impress me
In reply to Narper
Match on BT Sports in the UK.
Shiv out to Stewart for three slashing outside off.
Chanderpaul goes caught behind.... slow, slow pitch.
9 runs after 5 overs?
Shiv and Hemraj need a rest!
SHIVNARINE CHANDERPAUL c Adam Rouse b STEWART GRAN 3 (13
Wtf!
That umpire blind? Pitched way outside leg and given. Lbw?
Oh dear..... awful decision
In reply to robbo
A shocking decision by the umpire! That wasn't even close. Gidman pitched the ball well outside leg stump.
The umpire should know that a right hand pacer bowling wide over the stumps to a left hander is going to bowl most of his deliveries outside leg.
In reply to mikesiva
They paying dem chaps to umpire? For sure I could do better than that guy
In reply to anthonyp
Gidman appealing for everything now.
Guyana 25/2 9.0ovrs
Johnson 0* Hetmyer 10 *
OUT : Hemraj 5 Shiv 3
Wkts: Grant 1 Gidman 1
In reply to Narper
Hetmyer gives it away. Out caught at mid on for 10. Gidman gets a genuine wicket this time.
In reply to mikesiva
I woulda do the same.. Hety plays ah brainless shot once again..
180 on this deck will be like 300..
Ah hope Jaguars lose all their remaining matches for playing Barnwell
In reply to anthonyp
like the youngsters getting pay to rot on the bench..
In reply to anthonyp
Gidman gets his third wicket. Leon Johnson tried to turn it to leg but got a leading edge which popped up and went caught and bowled.
No wonder our cricket suck.. This is shyte for ah cricket pitch!
Hetmeyer has this glaring weakness of hitting airborne shots. 80 percent of his dismissals are this way. Limited footwork with body weight backwards instead of forward more closer over ball. Cant understand why this problem exists with so many coaches around him. Great eye and power but flawed technique, this kid wouldn't go very far with such flaws.
Guyana 29/4 12.0ovrs
Bramble 2* Barnwell 1*
OUT : Johnson 1 Hetmyer 10 Hemraj 5 Shiv 3
Wkts: Grant 1 Gidman 3
In reply to Windies2017
Barnwell averaging 18 after 39 list A match yet the clowns continue to pick him..
Adams scoring runs and taking wickets year after year yet he cant get a game..
In reply to anthonyp
Bramble out for two edging outside off. Gidman has four wickets.
One more gone .. Will Jaguars make 50?
Things looking really bad here for the Jaguars. The lower order will have to bat really well to make this a contest.
What ESPN is the match being shown on? ESPN Caribbean?
The limitation in technique of these batsmen is so glaring, & with Guyana being the best 4day team around, u don't have to think hard why Windies is the newest minnow in world cricket. Yes the pitch is slow & not conducive to easy stroke play, but it's no excuse for this embarrassing 38/5 score.
In reply to davo
This is a problem with so many young batters today..if you rely so much on airborne shots to score you will fail regularly, even in the 50 over game...its lazy batting.
In reply to davo
Very well said.
In reply to davo
Dem vex when me tell them
Loose as a goose!
In reply to robbo
Compared to past players who had such better footwork etc and fewer coaches, to now when there're so many paid ones, it's preposterous.
In reply to goofballs
Those aerial shots good only when we play in backdam when grass high and many cowfoot holes and cow dung present.
Then again, this is cow dung pasture cricket.
In reply to goofballs
Lol
Muddies mired in molasses right now!
[b]In reply to davo[/b
Totally agree... its one of the reasons Kohli is so successful...he can lick it with the best of them but he scores so many runs along the carpet in all forms of the game... he can also turn the strike over with singles etc.... so many young West Indians think batting is solely about stand and deliver (upwards)..... I suppose the preponderance of white ball cricket is to blame for this lazy style of batting.
In reply to davo
Shiv propped up the Guyanese team in the 4Dayers..Not so this time.
In reply to goofballs
Tredwell bowled Rutherford for 22 with a straight one. That was a slog that failed to connect.
Another brainless shot.. This time from Shurfane.. 87-7 now
In reply to anthonyp
Barnwell out next ball for 36. That was a swoosh outside off stump that got a tickle to slip.
In reply to robbo
Yep, Kohli is a prime example of good footwork technique in offense & defense. He is also a stamina fitness freak. I remember the tremendous running between the wicket with him & Dhoni in that T20 semifinal which they eventually lost to Windies last time, which he attributed to his stamina work.
Why all the negative comments about Guyana and West Indies batsmen? Kent hasn't batted yet.
In reply to anthonyp
any reason why bishoo is the number 11? he should be batting at 9 or 10 atleast..
In reply to Norm
This is all constructive criticism here. And unless we continue to bury our heads in the sand, and not call a spade a spade our cricket will continue to be mired in the doldrums at world level.
In reply to davo
your statements are on point
So we are so bad that we don't know even, the basic technique,I just have to wonder.
In reply to Norm
If Guyana bats out 50 overs then Permaul and Bishoo can make life difficult for the whingeing Poms of Kent.
In reply to Windies2017
Bishoo cant bat ahead of Keemo and Shepy..
Will probably bat ahead of Permaul
Guyana 112/7 35.0ovrs
Paul 13* Shepherd 11*
OUT : Rutherford 22 Barnwell 36 Bramble 2 Johnson 1 Hetmyer 10 Hemraj 5 Shiv 3
Wkts: Denly 1 Tredwell 1 Grant 1 Gidman 4
In reply to anthonyp
hmm for sure not keemo but is shepherd considered an all rounder (havent seen too much of him)? its times like these bishoo can take he time and make life miserable for the fielding team
In reply to granite
Let's start at the top & examine the people who make decisions for our cricket. Cameron wants only "yes men" around him, & not those who know best that are not afraid to be outspoken.
Gawn
114 -8
Soft dismissal Keemo
In reply to Windies2017
Paul chips a soft caught and bowled back to Denly. Out for 13.
These dismissals have been poor.
In reply to davo
Where? You call bad mouthing players, and not just those in this match, based on part of an innings "constructive"? So, if Guyana turns around and bowls out Kent for under 100, would you come back here and apologize for your girlish whining?
Gidman 10 overs 4-20.
40th over a maiden
Anthonyp's favorite player Barnwell is currently the top-scorer with 36.
Both batsmen stranded mid pitch, but the fielder's throw at the wicket misses! 145-8.
Short outside off, and spanked for 4 by Permaul! 150 up. 150-8.
BOWLED next ball by one that kept low!
In reply to Norm
Permaul exciting cameo ends for 24.
In reply to mikesiva
Guyana is enjoying some luck here. Crawling their way back into the game!
Let's hope Bishoo and Shepherd bat out the last 5 overs.
Come on Shep
bang a few more
170 is a decent score here
Shepherd's batting is showing its worth here. Keemo needs to start taking his batting seriously.
Edged dangerously past the keeper by Shepherd for 4! 155-8.
Bishoo caught on the boundary trying to clear it. 158 all out in 47.1 overs. Shepherd 30*.
In reply to Norm
Bishoo should have ...blah
they needed another 10 - 15 more here
In reply to Norm
Dude, concentrate on the bigger picture, this piss poor lot, will continue to fail at international level, with their current woeful flaws, hence our lowly status the last eighteen yrs.
Kent innings about to resume, as darkness sets in.
Paul to Bell Drummond. Edges just short of 2nd slip.
Kent 1-0 in 1 over.
Rutherford to bowl.
In reply to Norm
This Bell-Drummond fella had some big write ups here in England,he hasn't lived up to expectations.
In reply to granite
Caribbean heritage?
Kent 4-0 in 3 overs. Kent watchful.
Rutherford short and Crawley pulls it to the mid wkt boundary for 4! 8-0.
In reply to Norm
Yea,I think Jamaican.
In reply to Norm
This could be a tight match taking shape.
In reply to granite
We are still to see him living up to such expectations!
Shepherd down on the ground after fielding a ball. Seems to have hurt his ankle. Walks off the ground.
In reply to granite
Guyana fans are hoping so. The Jaguars seem to have lost their early momentum. The top order batting has become lazy.
30-0 in 8 overs. Kent well on the way.
Jaguars learning the hard way that the whole team has to contribute to the effort - all the time - if you want to win consistently. You cannot depend on a few to do the bulk of the work most of the time.
Keemo straying onto the pads in his fifth over, and being driven into the on side for runs.
38-0 in 9 overs.
Permaul again. Long hop put away for 4! 42-0 in 9.1 overs.
Crawley moves down to Bishoo, misses and is brilliantly stumped!!!Kent 57-1.
Shepherd to bowl. Bell Drumond caught in the gully by Hety! Kent 57-2.
Denly in. Marks his guard Shiv style, with a bail. Gets a no-ball. Free hit coming up. SIX!!!!!
Denly caught behind by Bramble in front of first slip off Shepherd, from one on off that left the batsman!!! Kent 72-3.
"The Kent team is a club, but Hampshire is a country." Wow! Devers' geography is seriously sub par!
Kent 94-3 in 18 overs. At this rate Kent will win in 30 overs. Time to bring back Paul, after this Bishoo over.
And Paul comes back to bowl. Kent 100-3 in 19.2 overs. 101-3 in 20 overs.
Bishoo again. Long hop pulled for SIX!!! Kent 107-3 in 21 overs.
Dickson given out lbw to one around leg from Bishoo! Kent 109-4.
Blake hits it high into the deep where Shepherd takes the catch, off Permaul!!! Kent 113-5 in 23.3 overs.
Kent 113-5 in 24 overs.
Bishoo to Rouse, the Kent keeper. Given out lbw! Comms seem unsure. Kent 113-6 in 24.2 overs. Crowd behind the Jaguars! Stewart Grant in. Beaten and almost bowled by Bishoo! Dropped at 1st slip by Johnson next ball! Went fast and low to Johnson and was very difficult, by all accounts.
Permaul again.
Pulled away to mid wicket for 4. Bad ball on leg. Turned to fine leg for 4! Two bouncing deliveries to end the over. Kent 126-6 in 26 overs. Kent needs 33 to win.
Bishoo again. Stewart Grant caught behind by Bramble off Bishoo!!!!! Kent 127-7 now! Decision being reviewed. No no ball. Gone.
Treadwell in. Kent 127-7 in 27 overs. 32 needed by Kent, to win.
Permaul again, bowling to 2 left-handers. Kent 128-7 in 28 overs.
Bishoo, in his 10th and last over. Kent 129-7 in 29 overs. Bishoo 10-0-35-4.
Permaul continues, with Kent needing 30 to win.
"The pressure is building ... like a pressure cooker. Who will it explode on?", says Devers! Quick single. Bramble does not collect cleanly and misses a run out chance! Shiv mis-fields and gives away a single now!
Kent 132-7 in 30 overs now.
Paul to bowl.
Kent 136-7 in 31 overs. 23 to win.
Permaul again. Long hop pulled away behind square for 4!
Kent 141-7 in 32 overs. 18 to win.
Johnson to bowl. WHY????
Pulled away to square leg and mis-fielded on the boundary by Rutherford. Goes over the boundary for 4!
Kent 148-7 in 33 overs. 11 needed to win.
Permaul again. Maiden.
Kent 148-7 in 34 overs. Permaul 9-3-36-1. Drinks.
Paul back on. Kent batsmen need to be careful about backing up too much!
Full toss edged past slips for 4!
Kent 155-7 in 35 overs. 4 to win.
Shepherd to bowl.
Kent 157-7 in 36 overs. 2 to win.
Paul again. Steered away to third man for 1. Scores level. Next ball edged to third man for 4!
Kent win by 3 wickets, with 13 overs to spare.
Guyana loses Hetmyer and Bishoo after this match.
It appears that Guyana is still feeling the effect of being stung by the Scorpions. it is the only plausible explanation for their performance today.
