Really surprised Greenidge is up there...if I had to guess I would have picked Haynes before Greenidge and neither would have been in my top 5.

But it's not how you start, is it? No wonder Amla always breaks Kohli's fastest to this and fastest to that record. He had a head start. Kohli is about a million miles ahead after the 2nd round(200 ODI'S).

Kohli first 100 ODI's(97 innings) - 4,107 runs, 13 100's.

Since then:

106 ODI'S, 101 innings - 5,316 runs, 21 100's.

He's probably averaging close to 70 over his last 106 ODI'S.

Amla was averaging 53.42 after 100 ODI's. His average is now 50.36.

Kohli was averaging 48.89 after 100 ODI'S. His average is now 57.45.

Shut the fu#k up. Viv was an aerial hitter who was always looking to clear the boundary. Today's "restrictions" would've made no difference.

Also, you discuss frequency, but you're assuming Viv would've remained fit, healthy, and motivated over an extended period of time.

Viv got lucky with umpiring decisions more often than not..DRS would have exposed his bullying skunt..

He averaged 47 at the end of it all..

Of course these Lavde ke balls will say he got bored blah blah..

That's true. I saw his demeanor at the crease. When he was around 40-odd,,, I thought he was just gonna lash out himself.... he looked like he wanted more competition.

Now that they lost that ODI... hopefully, India come back refreshed.

I wonder tho... if SA had to chase down the entire total... they probably would've struggled.

Anyway..... Virat is still boss even when he's bored... he makes 75 runs... lol

With the field restrictions these days

Also imagine if Viv opened. A large portion of that hundred ODI for Viv i suspect would have been batting lower than 3.

So a number of innings would have been not necessary even if he played in the game.

More woulda..coulda..

11 100s and 6000 runs is the real number..
