run out himself. The ball was hit out into the deep and he got run out attempting the first run.

direct hit?
In reply to Windies2017
Yup. Until he corrects his running problem, good fielding teams will target him for an easy runout.
Someone , (was it larr?) , made the point teams will throw at his end everytime.
Keep shedding dem lbs jimbo

man them on a campaign to discredit.
In reply to camos
Itd no discredit...its the fat ....facts. He will br targeted by any astute opponents. The Aussies would have him ragged. He can hit..he can bowl...but....
In reply to doosra
Well, you and Larr are correct. No one is questioning his batting and bowling. We all know he could hold his own in those departments - it is his running between the wickets. If he wants to make it to the highest level, his fielding and running will be a problem for the captain. Is he a good slip fielder?
BTW, I heard that Baptiste was so awful on the field, Viv told him to keep going to the boundary line, and he kept asking Viv how far? Viv told him to keep going. He finally got the message: get to hell off the field.
I don't know how true that was, but when I heard it, I was cracking up...sound like something Viv would do until he messes with Ryan Hinds and Carlisle Best.
PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE
Pik Cornwall in the Wondies.
Let them shut up of put up.
I sey he will fail.
Please prove me wrong.
Give him a chance to prove me wrong.
Let me see him fielding agile.
Let me see him taking slip catches.
Let me see him batting long.
Let me see him taking wickets.
If this happens Wondies will improve.
I have nothing to lose.
Either I right
Of Wondies improve.
How can i lose.
Why alyuh think Inzi used to get run out all the time?
"Throw to the fat kid's end...."
In reply to Larr Pullo
I can live with him getting run out after an Inzi type innings
Anyone know Gayle? If Gayle can play for West Indies ... Cornwall MUST CAN!
In reply to TheTrail
If he dosent run but scores centuries and half centuries down the order, I will take it any day.
In reply to Pacy
How is he going to score centuries and half centuries without running? Who will he be batting with?
In reply to Pacy... Gayle?
In reply to TheTrail
I think that sounds like the Gabriel story, unless Viv did it twice.
In reply to TheTrail
How many times has Cornwall been run out? Easy to blame his size, but is this fact?
In reply to Logic
It was Richard Gabriel.
Even if Cornwall is overweight his statistics so far make him a more valuable pick in the WI ODI than the likes of Jason Mohammed & Rovman Powell etc.
Opinions on this thread demonstrate, reflect the decline of critical thinking that plagues WI cricket on the field of play.
Wow! This big fella gwine bulldoze WIC-ed-B's door! Didnt know he could bat that well.
In reply to davo... Ditto!
In reply to Larr Pullo
Till date he has 4 centuries and 11 Half centuries in FC career... He would score more just like how he did them.
Notice what I said about Cornwall - I did not say anything else about him that is disparaging.
You guys could read whatever allyuh want into what I said...
BTW, I stand corrected on the Baptiste Viv fiasco.
It was, in fact, Richard Gabriel.
That sometimes happens when you are watching oldtimers play dominoes and drinking while talking about cricket of yesteryear, anything that they say can be construed...at times.
In reply to TheTrail
Dat wasn Baptiste. It was a Trini
In reply to johndom90
Because no critical thinking is required in this case .... just plain old logical reasoning
In reply to Kay
[quote][critical thinking that plagues WI cricket quote]......you ran with a piece....but...in a sense u r right. Most times Team WI just lack logical thought... Not ready for criticsl thinking required at the highest level.
In reply to Windies2017
No. The fielder at long off returned the ball right over the non-striker's stumps. Jimbo was short of the popping crease by an inch or so, and his bat was not grounded. Pure coincidence (he was not targeted), but Dowrich, who called for the run, was surprised.
Compensating for Jimbo's slow running is a fairly simple matter, especially if his obvious all-round value is considered.
This "fear the fat" hysteria is yet another form of western brainwashing that we so readily gobble up.
