Marylebone Cricket Club (MCC), in conjunction with Cricket West Indies (CWI) and the England & Wales Cricket Board (ECB), has today announced that a special fundraising T20 International match will be played at Lord’s on Thursday 31st May 2018. Proceeds of the match will to go towards the restoration of cricket grounds in Dominica and Anguilla that were damaged by the hurricanes
West Indies, current ICC World T20 champions, will take on an ICC Rest of the World XI, in a one-off match which will be broadcast live on Sky Sports.
The International Cricket Council (ICC) has confirmed its full support by granting the match International status and asking Giles Clarke, ECB President and ICC Board Member, to assist in coordinating the match.
The cricket grounds in Dominica (Windsor Park Stadium) and Anguilla (James Ronald Webster Park) were damaged following the passage of Hurricanes Irma and Maria. These essential grounds represent the heartbeat of cricket in each country and are important community facilities. The proceeds from the fundraising match will go towards their restoration.

My question is....who will be available or make themselves available
WHO WILL SELECT THE TEAM? If it's Brung the the best team will not be selected...it will be a bajan team
In my view Daren Sammy should captain the WI team or play for the world XI.

you picked your team based on what?
Outside of Evin Lewis and Andre Russell, both proven INTERNATIONAL T20 performers AND WORLD CUP WINNERS who are head and shoulders way better players than Paul and Hetmeyer, the team I posted is the team that represented West Indies in their last T20 series against New Zealand

Is dat reason enough to be selected?
AND.....a WI team which got cut ass by NZ...lost 2-0 and would have lost the 3rd but for rain intervention....how many of them made the cut to the IPL 2018?
Paul is 19 and Hetmyer is 21....time to blood new payers...all I am calling for is a look in...and yes...they have won a world cup too
If Shai Hope is in why not Hetmyer?
Fletcher?
Carlos Brathwaite?
Rovman Powell?
Nurse?

Anyone thinking of going to this?
I might.
Regardless of the team it sounds like a good cause.

Wonderful Cause. If as stated it will be given International status with
SKY being the broadcaster,I would imagine that the team will be made up
of the well known T20 stars. Would like to see Sammy at the helm.
And the other team made up of players from all other countries.
It could be a huge occasion. Hope it will be very successful dollars wise.

This is a fundraiser. So it is a festival match. People will pay to see the stars of T20 cricket. Not unknowns.

Even though this is a charity-match of sorts, it's counted as a T20I? Weird.

£50 for covered stands seat, £30-£40 for some uncovered seats...hmmm.
I might wait until a few days before, when I see the weather report, before buying a ticket.
It can be a bit wet at the end of May, and a bit chilly too, after 6pm!
