Carnival costume bands? Wasn't there but pics look good. High costs affecting participant numbers?
Crime? Seemed worse but wasn't there, going on news.

I just don't want to see one of the truly great West Indian spectaculars fade. I am heartened by the musical talent I hear this year.
Cannot let other forces bring it down.

Phenomenal music this year...although I do have a problem with the way radio stations monopolize airplay and some damn good songs don't get enough play...
The Woi Riddim was criminally underplayed.
Fetes- went two cooler fetes. No all-inclusives...my philosophy is how good a fete is is up to you...keep waiting on the vibe or keep waiting on some artist to mash it up...and dais all yuh go do...keep waiting...just enjoy the thing..
Mas- put trini gyal in costume and any band look good..
I had a blast playing Jouvert
Crime- was low...probably because the police scared people into staying home...Town was very sparse Carnival Tuesday.
All in all, sweet season...have tabanca right now.

As a postscript, Soca Monarch Voice is good but in my opinion there's a bit of hyping to his success.
And voice for voice, melody, etc....Blaxx is the best talent we have.

Blax! I will check him out thoroughly. I saw him a couple of times 4 to 5 years ago and he didn't inspire me.
