The same radio said the economy is sound in Bim.
Do we validate, or accept what we are told?

click bait fake news. Crazy that a radio station would fall for it.
In reply to VIX
You would be surprised how many cannot distinguish between credible and fake.
In reply to Runs
Not at all surprised. Lots of folks who should know better parrot this sort of junk as if it were fact.
One guy even became US president riding on fake news!

So true. It's easy to dismiss this thread as a "simple mistake" (and it is)... but this same thinking is why politicians run rampant around the globe.
Just say something and it can become fact to a % of your audience.
Like pastors in the pew or politician in parliament, news fed information is given a certain amount of carte blanche credibility as the bedrock of telling us masses what we should know and/or think....
BBC Radio mastered this as a form of colonial brainwashing over the commonwealth for decades.

I remember when actor Paul Walker died in a car crash. It was first reported on TMZ. My first thought was 'oh, scam/spam alert. lemme see it on BBC or CNN or something then I'll pay attention'. And lo and behold, the TMZ report was true.
Just goes to show that media reputation also goes a long way.

TMZ has a pretty good track record though. They broke the news of both MJ and Prince's deaths amongst other big stories.
