He is in my view an average batsman and bowler. Less value or worth as a bowler.
Cannot turn it on late in an innings same for his bowling. He is not a match winner. Does not ooze confidence. He is not captain of this ODI team.
Fielding is average nothing spectacular.
So what did Lloyd really see in him and why is it taking Brown and co to effect a positive change?
Same can be said for the entire youth movement that LLOYD STARTED.

What is the value of Holder as captain of WI?
Any one not from his home will also ask those questions. We have placed players in Captains position that can hardly command a place in the team.

So the skill pool is barren then if he is all we have.

Lloyd saw a tall athlete who can speak well...
Holder's identication by Lloyd as the future WI captain was a brilliant political decision, without any cricketing merit. Given his proven talent spotting ability, Lloyd was not on a mission to get the best captain, rather an obedient youth to fit Dave Cameron's agenda of having 'yes men' around him. As it is Holder has little motivational & strategic abilities which is painful for fans as the team continues to see zero improvement. As an allrounder, given the poor resource pool, he would be an automatic selection in all 3 formats.
Hola...Holder as captain has a place in the side...he has talent but the sure pick means he does not have to perform to be selected....I think we did an injustice in making him skipper...he can make this team on his batting ability alone.
Adios

Which other youngster, base on performance should replace him?
Better batsman than Sammy. Bowling just about on par with Sammy. No where near the tactical ability required of a Captain.
