will soon be relegated to a debate just like what Kohli vs Darren Bravo is....

Kohli Vs Lara....
In reply to WestDem
Too soon bro... too soon.
Let the HATERS lick their wounds and continue to "work" while the GOAT does his thing.....
HAHAHAHAHAHA
In reply to WestDem... Lara being compared to DB? Disrespectful!
In reply to natty_forever
Natty...get with de program and remember when Kohli just started, who was he compared to here?
In reply to WestDem... and? DB is no BL. So to say Lara debate going end like that of DB is disrespectful, I say again. DB will never average over 50, that Kohli is, he can now enter the great debate.
In reply to WestDem
Natty is trying to be nutty!
In reply to googley
or cunty...
In reply to googley... Db and Lara name should not be mentioned on the same thread.
In reply to Khaga... saw your mother!
In reply to natty_forever
why not, DB has the Lara "look"
Lara has retired, he bothers no one.
Why not leave him alone.
The more one mentions his name, it propels his legacy
to such that he will always be remembered.
In reply to WestDem
lOOK here west dim.. Lara was something very special and rare, so is Kohli too.
In reply to WestDem
Khoolie can't BAT LIKE LARA
In reply to FanAdict
You're right, he has surpassed Lara as a batsman in all aspects and formats.
Btw who the fu#k is Khoolie? You fu#king cu#t.
In reply to Devin
Kohli is a top class batsman.
He is absolutely incredible.
Lara was more classy though, in my opinion.
Lara's backfoot square drives and his on drives were second to none.
I could watch both all day.
In reply to Gun_Play
Fair assessment. Virat lacks Brian's finesse in some of the strokes..they are more brutal..Lara lacked Virat's intensity..
In reply to FanAdict
If this had come from an Indian or a Indo-Origin person, They would have been banned.
Talk about sensitivities.
Lara lacked any desire to play ODI's although he could have dominated, he did not want to he lacked intent and intensity.
We see and like what we want to see and like.
Comparing players of different generations, is who one likes.
They're both great batsman, it is Kohli's time and a joy following his career.
In reply to openning
That's a cop out when you clearly Kohli being superior.
Why do you seniors keep tooting Sobers' horn in comparison with modern stars then?
In reply to Gun_Play
Lara's off-side play was brilliant. I've heard people here talk about Lara's on-drives, however, I rarely recall him playing that shot. Given his high back-lift, driving down the ground would've been very difficult. Especially to pacers.
They are both brilliant through the off-side, but due to Kohli's superior technique and foot movement, he is able to drive good length deliveries for four. Lara always needed room to free his arms.
As far as legside/on-side play goes, there's no comparison.
In reply to Khaga
Because he was the total package, anyone who break down what he did, is diluting his overall accomplishment.
Gary was a cricketer, he bat, bowled and field.
With Holy King Koohli's trajectory, he might surpass everbloody! But, BCL's array of shots & his aesthetic/finesse (as with all windian top batsmen), I will use the late Tony Cozier's description - MAGNIFICIENT!
The bowlers these days are nowhere in the class
of those that Lara played against. Story done.
In reply to Ridge Watch it sah! Devin resides in Toronto!
In reply to Khaga
I agree...
Kohli seems like a guy that looks to destroy u every match.
He is more a power player with some very very very good technique.
In reply to Ridge
But Lara didn't score against them, that's the problem.
Post 2000 when England found some fast bowlers, Lara averaged 30 against them.
We know he never scored a test ton against Wasim and Waqar, or Donald and Pollock. We also know that McGrath owned Lara's ass and dismissed him some 20-odd times in Test and ODI's.
In reply to Devin
Trust me... No other human being has been able to match Lara's on drive.
You'd think his high bat lift would be an impediment but it makes the shot even more stylish and special.
You could come to a match and see Lara on drive once an go home... it was that special.
Kohli is just a beast of batsman with an unquenchable thirst for runs.
His technique is good... Not as good as Tendulkar but his shot selection and judgement may be the best I've every seen.
Watch Lara's on driving here.

Do you visit Toronto?
In reply to openning
Yawnn..sorry..take your own medicine..Gary was a great in a certain generation..
In reply to Khaga
So too was Lara and Tendy in their generation.
This is Kohli's, so lets enjoy it.
Great stands alone. There was never a need to compare Sobers, Viv. Lara to anyone before them. They set new standards and definitions without the need to compare. The psychological yearning for acceptance is clearly manifested in the tone and finality of the kohli threads..
...Viv went into a bar in Afghanistan...the taliban barman looked at him and said 'god is great...anything you want'....Kohli walk in the same bar....the taliban ask him for ID..... ......
How come...
