NEW T20 LEAGUE TO CLASH WITH CPL
In reply to Gun_Play
Not if they offer more money
In reply to Narper
True
Will Sanga and company choose the CPL over their domestic T20 league though?
sanga is the only SL player in the CPL
In reply to Gun_Play
Competition is good
We with the established league now just got to hold we own.
I gues the guys from the Caribbean who don't get picked to play in the CPL can now go to play in Lanka
Cause I dont' see established stars leaving to go there.
In reply to positiveg
Buddy, we know how we are at maintaining high standards.
Other people come and surpass us with easy.
Also, the CPL isn't profitable... So how will we continue to pay the superstars to come play in it... things to ponder
In reply to navindesigns
Not sure how many played last season but alot of their players played in the CPL at one point.
Will they make themselves available now is the question.
In reply to Gun_Play
They hav no reason to make themselves availbale so they stay home and play.
Also I see the CPL maintaining its own vs SLC
Remember all in all WI still got plenty starts in T20 cricket and they're most likely going to be playing this year here

Really?
You think they will with all the bad blood between them and the board?
We shall see.
I really hope the CPL can keep it's feet.
In reply to Gun_Play
The bad blood exist between the board and players not the CPL.
They are quite prepared to play hard for their CPL teams
In reply to positiveg
I hope so
What's so Caribbean about the CPL?
-None of the franchise owners are strictly Caribbean
-There is growing interest in moving more games to the USA
-Foreign players dominate the performances
-the so called CPL relies on global TV audience
In reply to Khaga
Same can be said about the English Premier League.
What's your point?
In reply to Gun_Play
I don't think the English are crying about other leagues clashing with EPL..
In reply to Khaga
Foreign players dominated performance? In the CPL? I don't know where you get that nonsense from.
The top runs scorers. ...
Chadwick Walton 458
Kumar sangakkara 379
Chris gayle 375
Evan Lewis 355
Dwayne Smith 349
Three of the top five wicket takers were west Indian. . . .
Sohail tanvir 17
Dwayne Bravo 16
Rayad emrit 15
Kesrick Williams 15
Rashid Khan 14

Thank you for confirming the rest of my observations.
In reply to Khaga
I don't dispute your other points. But I am happy to point when you're chatting shite.
In reply to mikesiva
I don't dispute your other points.
I got what I needed to hear.
I think our 'cricketing tourists' will take a trip to Lanka just to spite anything West Indian ...
In reply to Khaga
It would be good to have Caribbean ownership but that won't happen any time soon.
The American experiment is doomed to fail.
The CPL is still dominated by Caribbean players.
Most matches are played before large and often sold out crowds.
So yes it's still very much a Caribbean event.
More so than the poorly attended PCL and super 50.
