May I suggest that if bowlers get bonus points for maiden overs then batsmen should have a similar bonus. Perhaps for sixes
In reply to Walco
I'll pass that suggestion on to nick to consider....
We won't use it for this FL, but if nick thinks it's a good one, then maybe the next FL?
In reply to Walco
I use 4s and 6s in T20 leagues. I would have to see if I have ever used it in ODIs.

I am counting on Windies to upset UAE as well.
good luck all thoroughbreds and kangalangs
In reply to Narper
Calum MacLeod is the man you should have picked from Scotland
I had just a few minutes of research of so many no namers. Macleod was on my shortlist but Coetzer and I go back a long way. He was my star youth player in Cricket Captain years ago!
Chose Sean Williams over Brendan Taylor as he also bowls decently. However they did not play him.
Same with Sim Singh from Panjab who just got Irish citizenship.
It is early days anyhow.....
In reply to goofballs
Surprised Williams has been out of their one day squad for a while now but I guess they have Raza and Waller to complement his overs
In reply to Windies2017
A bummer. All I read was that he was coming back from recent injury after being named to the squad for their last series.
I now notice he hasn't played for a while.
Good bat, decent spinner.

Why am I on 0!!!!
Is who WI played?
I see lollipops sharing out. Third class level.
Ole Man Gayle with his experience alone would lash some Bacchae/Pinckneys.
Holder knows how to get himself in the right position to please.
Hetram is at home with his level/class.
Hopefully they can perform half as decent against second class opponents coming up.
Fantasy wise only two Wi of note, Gayle and Holder.
Not too much damage against my non WI side of nine, two not playing.
Fikkr mat! Worry not, Goofy!

During the match against Zimbabwe, which Afghanistan lost by a narrow margin of two runs, Shahzad struck his bat hard on the pitch next to the main wicket after being dismissed by Tendai Chatara in the ninth over. Such was the force with which he hit the bat on the track that it "left a significant divot on the turf," stated an ICC

This was a difficult one with so many unknown players.

I would need a Scotland-Windies tie or NR combined with a UAE win and a NR or tie with Ireland-Afghanistan.
In reply to Tryangle
It will be against my (fantasy) interest here if WI goes to the finals.
But still, a win situation if they make it!
In reply to Tryangle
In a final between any two of WI, Zim or Afghan...I will have 6 horseys
If Ireland gets in I have 5....but if SCotland gets in...it will upset my run...........I have none from Scotland
In reply to Narper
Only how I get points would be if WI plays WI lol
my spread is too small
I've only got one from Zim, IRL and AFG
so best bet would be if WI makes to a final then bat first all me horseys make plenty run then the 2nd innings gets rained out

It is a see saw battle, but you will run away with it now that WI got in the finals, by hook, crook or rain!
I have 2 going tomorrow and 7 next day. Maybe for the finals, 2 if Zim qualifies, 4 if Ireland, 3 if Afghan, Coetzer for Scotland.
I will write my concession speech after my production day after tomorrow.

I have 8-9 in the finals.
Maybe the West Indies will score 400 runs all out and bowl them out for 40.
In reply to nick2020
I have seven going tomorrow. My magic wish is that all the bats make 200 runs each and all the bowlers take 10 wkts each.
In reply to goofballs
I have 5 tomorrow.
I am looking for big tons from Porterfied and Joyce and Rahmat Shah
Everybody have my other picks
In reply to Narper
You have my surprise plays like Rahamat and Joyce, but I am not a threat to your all star team.
But Simi Singh...she is exclusively mine!
Not many have Fat Boy Stirling.
In reply to goofballs
I wish Chris Gayle would bat 4 times in 1 inns myself.
In reply to Narper
Narper just leads from Walco in close finish

I am going to lose at the finish line...Walco has the above six WI horseys in the final...and I only have 3 ...of that 6
Great finish Walco....I concede early
In reply to Narper
I wouldn't be surprised if Windies rest Gayle and Roach (age/injury concerns) just to be on the safe side.
top 10
looking for that top 10 finish
In reply to Narper
Why don't you adopt Positive G's name.
Be positive. Remember rain could fall with no play.
Or some men could not play, be injured or make ducks.
Walco had a good run last competition but faded at the end. The jockey took a different strategy in this race. Coming from behind!
In reply to goofballs
I conceded after I knew that Joyce didn't play in today's match and Porterfield failed...I was hoping to have a cushion of points {from these two) against Walco...but it was not meant to be
In reply to Narper
remember the story Fazeer told about his dad betting that Gavaskar making more run that Greenidge and Haynes combined in that match in TnT?
he too conceded early and paid off the bets!
only to realize later as the match progressed, he won!
he could not find a soul to give him back his refund and winnings!!!
In reply to googley
Tons for Raza, Williams, Singh, Shahzad and Rashid
In reply to Narper
You are not going to get me to fall for that concession Narps
What happens if the match gets rained out?
The only players that matter tomorrow as far as our head to head battle are Hope, Roach and Nurse for me, and Shah for you. My guys will have to outscore Shah by 60-odd points. Let's see what happens.
In reply to goofballs
I remember well
In reply to Walco
Good luck, pray for no rain.
In reply to mikesiva
Thank You!
At long last my horses decided to run. Too little, too late!
Might not make the top 10, hoping for top half. (Realistic goal).

Geez man I back down in de middle. and halfway through the finals me horseys them lagging
Congrats to Narper on what appears to be a well earned victory. Shah did the job today.
In reply to Walco
earned?
The man didn't earn that...he took it away with brute force right from the start
did he ever slip from 1
In reply to doosra
You think its easy to win a race by taking the lead and keeping it the whole race without drafting off anyone?
You apparently did not see Narps waving the white flag and declaring a loss before the finals
Anyway, I have been informed by my attorney that in the event that the margin of victory is less than 1/2 of 1%, there is an automatic recount. This language apparently is hidden somewhere in the fineprint of the rules, but is only visible to persons wearing night vision goggles
In reply to Walco
Tons for Shahzad, Mujeeb, Nabi

In reply to Narper

Thanks for the congrats fellas.
Nice long race...my chosen horseys delivered.
Thanks to Mike again...you delivered too
Congrats to the winner Narper!
My mistake was not picking Holder. Top 4 all had him.(had Miller instead
)
Thanks to Mikesiva.
These leagues make the tournament a lot more interesting.
In reply to Walco
Congrats...
You had me worried at the end there but your WI horseys stumbled...if only Roach had taken a wicket or Nursey taken a wicket or Hope had made another 25...
You may not remember....but a couple of years ago you beat me by 10 points to win the race
In reply to Narper
Ya did well with one busted ankle before the final turn (Joyce). Well-picked squad.
In reply to Narper
congrats.tek ah pill for de fresh cold

congrats narper and good stuff mike
In reply to Narper
The last time I remember winning a FL was during that shortened India Tour of 2015. I don't remember the margin of victory, but certain people back then wanted to put an asterisk next to my victory because the tour was called off
Anyway I guess we are even now
In reply to Walco
Congrats for the win, Walco!
Remember Narper conceded way back when in spite of advice from his advocates, G$G law firm.......Goofy and Googley.
Serves him well.
Anyways, congrats Narps!
In reply to goofballs
This was the formula going into the final
Rahmat Shah + 62 points vs Roach + Hope + Nurse
Rahmat Shah + 62 points won by 24
Walco had a real chance at gold
In reply to Narper
It was a very challenging tournament with players we haedly knew.
Congrats Narps.
Start strong end strung
