HEADLINE: Joseph and Cornwall making progress in High Performance Program

St John’s, ANTIGUA - WINDIES Senior Team pacer, Alzarri Joseph and WINDIES A team all-rounder Rahkeem Cornwall have been in an intensive rehabilitation and fitness program.

Joseph’s program has been geared towards helping him recover and rehabilitate from a stress injury to his back, sustained during the WINDIES tour of New Zealand late last year. Joseph has already completed four weeks of physical training and is currently on his 16 day of “return to bowling” program.

High-Performance Director, Graeme West is pleased with Alzarri’s progress and reaction to the rehabilitation program. West indicated “The really positive thing so far is that there’s been no negative reaction by his body to bowling. Roddy Estwick has introduced a couple small technical changes that we hope will help his efficiency and take a little bit of stress off his bowling action.”

Cornwall, on the other hand, has had a shorter period since starting the fitness program but is making quick progress. He has played a considerable amount of cricket over the last 6 months. However, CWI has identified a window where he could focus on some physical training and he is currently working six days a week with Strength and Conditioning Coach to complete a three-week program.

West was also pleased with the progress and determination that Cornwall has shown, “He’s progressing very well and will be putting that to the test soon, with some club cricket in Antigua. The ultimate goal is to have him ready for ongoing tours to include, but not limited to WINDIES A tour of the England, CPL, Super50 and the 4-Day League.”

Both Cornwall and Joseph train at the Coolidge Cricket Ground. Strength and Conditioning Expert, Ronald Rogers is part of the team included in the recovery of both players.

The program is managed by West, along with Dr. Oba Gulston Manager of Sports Medicine and Science, along with Rogers and Bowling Consultant Roddy Estwick.

In my opinion , all Players in the Region who have represented their particular Cricket Board must undergo
Full Fitness Training , Organized by
their Cricket Boards .

I strongly believe that when the squad
is selected to represent the Region ,
THEY also must undergo Intensive Fitness Training & also Batting ;Bowling & Fielding .

In any Game , Intensive Training
must be a Prerequisite to get to the
Top & Stay at the Top. Those in the
Governance of West Indies Cricket
have bluntly refused to do the above.

Obviously , this fact is discernible
when Our Players engage in International encounters in the
International Cricket Arena .

THE SKILLS PERSONS AT THE PINNACLE OF

ALL SPORTS ; HAD TO WORK VERY HARD

AT HARNESSING & HONING THEIR SKILLS

TO BE SUCCESSFUL .

International Team Sports require that there must be cohesion , BY ALL INVOLVED . In Cricket that means THE
BOARD ; COACHES ; TRAINERS & PLAYERS
must ALL be of One Accord , regarding
every aspect of the Game .

THIS IN MY OPINION HAS NOT HAPPENED

IN DECADES . BECAUSE THE WICBC/CWI

IS OF THE OPINION THAT WHEN PLAYERS

START DEVELOPING THEIR SKILLS THEY

WILL LEAVE .

The WICBC BECAUSE OF ITS CONTINUOUS

STUPIDITY FAILS TO UNDERSTAND THAT

HAVING MUTUAL RESPECT IS THE KEY TO

MAKING PLAYERS AVAILABLE TO REPRESENT

THE REGION IN THE INTERNATIONAL

CRICKET ARENA .

In essence, the Emperors in the WICBC/
CWI have not yet realized the fact
that :

COHESIVENESS IS INFINITELY BETTER

THAN DIVISIVENESS ; SO ALSO IS MUTUAL

RESPECT .

Since most if not all of those in the
governance have yet to understand the
above , it makes absolutely no sense
having these same Arrogant ; Egotistical ; Dictatorial Persons in the governance of West Indies Cricket.

THIS IS PRECISELY WHY THEY ALL MUST

BE REMOVED FROM THE GOVERNANCE OF

WEST INDIES CRICKET . THE SOONER THE

BETTER .

I invite Everyone in this Forum to
check how many matches Our Team's Opponents have played , as opposed to
the number of Matches that Our Players
have played .

THE DIFFERENCE IS NOT

ONLY STARK BUT FREAKING STARTLING .

THIS IS IN MY OPINION IS ALSO A

FACTOR IN OUR PLAYERS PERFORMANCES

IN THE INTERNATIONAL CRICKET ARENA .

BTW , I have cited this fact many times in this Forum ,the fact that those in the governance of West Indies Cricket has apparently not come to this realization , informs me that THEY have been and are derilict
in their Stewardship of West Indies
Cricket , and therefore must be removed .

You don't have a clue eh?

None at all,
he probably don't even know that the regional clubs also have to go through full fitness training.

He so blinded by his hate, he just copy and paste old postings to regurgitate on every thread here.
Long as he can find a way to bash the CWI.

The Key is playing Competitive Matches
I challenge any of the Yahoos in this
Forum to provide concrete evidence that OUR PLAYERS play more First Class
Matches than most of the Players on Teams they meet in the International
Cricket Arena .

THAT IS THE FREAKING POINT I AM

MAKING . LOST ON THE MORONS IN THIS

FORUM , WHAT I HAVE STATED ABOVE IS

VERY CRITICAL , REGARDING THE

COMPETITIVENESS OF PLAYERS ON ANY

TEAM .

The fact is that it is necessary for
Our Players to play more matches so that eventually there would be
cohesiveness when they Represent the
Region .

THIS FREAKING FACT IS LOST ON THE

SYCOPHANTS OF THE WICBC/CWI WHO

POPULATE THIS FORUM .
