Former Pakistan legspinner Mushtaq Ahmed has signed a one-month contract as West Indies' spin-bowling coach.
Mushtaq's contract with the PCB as the National Cricket Academy head coach ended last month and the extension takes effect from July, allowing him to take up the role with Cricket West Indies.
"It's a privilege to work with the West Indies cricket team," Mushtaq told ESPNcricinfo. "They have produced many greatest cricketers and I have wonderful memories playing against a few in the 90s. They probably are not the same force in the world cricket at this stage but they still have a consistent pipeline of exceptional cricketers coming in the system. It's a short contract but still a month-long deal is ample enough for me to create a difference."

Another positive for Dave Cameron. It's the second time that Mushtag will have the opportunity to work with our spinners...albeit a restricted list.
I hope this time around as many young spinners, in particular, leg spinners will be afforded the opportunity to benefit from this world class leg spinner.
By the same token, bowlers who have participated in a similar programme with the same bowler in the past and who have shown no inclination or propensity to improve should not be considered.
It is my firm believe that it's a futile effort to proceed with bowlers who have over the years shown signs of diminiuhing returns.
Let's make this coaching stint cost effective.
Once again,...baby steps by CWI which should be complimented.

Five years and counting and we are still awaiting for the potential to deliver.
If de leg spinner was any good, he would have been making millions in de IPL like Sunil Narine and playing alongside Abhishek Nayar.
There is a huge demand for quality leg spinners.
But he is good at "taking my woman."

The fast bowlers are already being compensated, they get additional points for performances in the regionals...

In reply to Kay... well we could start with some better pitches, and remove the chucker early.
