HEADLINE: West Indies lead calls to protect small Test nations - and save future of game

A new report by the West Indies advocates money from the International Cricket Council being allocated more equitably between countries, broadcasting rights being pooled, away teams receiving a share of home broadcasting rights for series and major global events being shared between more countries.

The proposals are formally on the agenda at the ICC Annual Conference in Dublin, which begins on Thursday. "There has never been more money in the sport," West Indies chief executive Johnny Grave told The Daily Telegraph.

"The game must adopt more equitable revenue sharing to ensure that cricket is sustainable in all countries, that the game grows throughout the world and that there is a competitive balance among teams to generate interest among fans.”

The report also claims that the structure of international cricket is "loaded in favour of wealthier nations". It warns that if steps are not taken to help the sport in other countries, nations from beyond Australia, England and India - the ‘Big Three’ - will become weaker, matches will lose competitive balance and the appeal of international cricket will dwindle.

Before asking for money , the Onus is
on ALL those in the WICBC/CWI & the
Regional Boards to undergo a Total &
Complete Restructuring of Cricket in
the Region .

ASKING FOR MONEY WHEN THOSE IN THE

ADMINISTRATION OF CRICKET IN THE

REGION BLUNTLY REFUSE TO CHANGE

THEIR MODUS OPERANDI IS

UNADULTERATED B.S .

As I have already stated in this Forum . There must be a fire lit under those in the Administration of
Cricket in the Region .

IT IS THEREFORE INCUMBENT ON THE ICC

TO GIVE ALL INTERNATIONAL CRICKET

BOARDS MONEY ACCORDING TO THEIR

PERFORMANCES ; IN THE INTERNATIONAL
.

I want ALL Cricket Boards to be held
Accountable for their Stewardship
of Cricket in their particular Country . I am very serious about this Freaking fact .

HOW THE HELL IN THIS REGION WE ARE

GOING TO IMPROVE WHEN WE ARE SADDLED

BY A CRICKET BOARD THAT HAS

BLUNTLY REFUSED TO CHANGED ITS

STRUCTURE SINCE IT WAS FORMED .

WE are living in the 21st. Century ,
not in the 20th Century . It is incumbent on the ICC to ensure that
ALL its Members are Perpetually in
compliance:

WITH ALL THAT IS ENTAILED IN GOOD

GOVERNANCE . IT IS QUITE OBVIOUS

THAT THE WORST INTERNATIONAL CRICKET

BOARD IN THE COMMONWEALTH AKA THE

WICBC/CWI IS BLATANTLY UNAWARE OF

WHAT IS REQUIRED IN GOOD GOVERNANCE.

It is sheer unadulterated Nonsense ,
to give the WICBC/CWI more money when
it bluntly refuses to change its
Modus Operandi .

Giving the WICBC/CWI Money when it
bluntly & utterly refuses to changing
its Modus Operandi , is akin to throwing , Good Money after Bad Money .

CRICKET BOARDS IN THE ICC MUST

DEMONSTRATE THAT THEY ARE IN FULL

COMPLIANCE WITH ALL THE REQUIREMENTS

OF GOOD GOVERNANCE .

Aside from the WICB's own internal issues, it's way late in the game for Windies to jump on and pretend to lead the clarion call for some equality in funding, etc.

They agreed to the Big 3's initial "reforms" and cast their lot in so as to get whatever pennies were thrown back at it.

Now, they finally realize they've been played and want to act like they have integrity... while forgetting that they no longer have major influence on how the game is run.

Good luck.
