ICC Press Release:

Alzarri Joseph has received an official reprimand and one demerit point after being found guilty of a Level 1 breach of the ICC Code of Conduct for Players and Player Support Personnel during Wednesday’s ODI against Bangladesh.
The West Indies won the match by three runs in Guyana to keep the three-match series alive.

The Windies fast bowler was found to have violated Article 2.1.7 of the code, which relates to “using language, actions or gestures which disparage or which could provoke an aggressive reaction from a batsman upon his/her dismissal during an international match”.

The incident happened in the third over of Bangladesh’s run-chase when Joseph, after dismissing Anamul Haque, gestured the opener back to the dressing room.

After the match, Joseph admitted the offence and accepted the sanction proposed by Chris Broad of the Emirates Elite Panel of ICC Match Referees and, as such, there was no need for a formal hearing.

The charge was levelled by on-field umpires Richard Illingworth and Gregory Brathwaite, third umpire S Ravi, as well as fourth umpire Joel Wilson.

Level 1 breaches carry a minimum penalty of an official reprimand, a maximum penalty of 50 per cent of a player’s match fee, and one or two demerit points.

I saw the South African team run and scream at Cameron Cuffy like a dog after they dismissed him. Nobody was fined. This ICC is racist or what!

Did you also see Holding kick down the stumps?

That Cuffy incident is ancient history. Very different rules of conduct are in place nowadays

ok, lets see if they are consistent because Stuart Broad wouldn't have gotten fine for that.

A mild gesture of "ta-taa, goodbye, the pavilion is that-a-way..."

Totally unnecessary report and fine. You have to wonder.

Willey, who took two for 26, was found guilty of violating Article 2.1.7 of the Code, which relates to "using language, actions or gestures which disparage or which could provoke an aggressive reaction from a batsman upon his/her dismissal during an international match".

Willey, after dismissing Milinda Siriwardana in the third over, used obscene language and pointed to the pavilion in giving the batsman a send-off. For this offence, Willey has been fined 15 per cent of his match fee.

Englishman

Pakistan leg-spinner Shadab Khan on Tuesday was fined 20 per cent of his match fee for breaching the International Cricket Council’s code of conduct for players and player support personnel.

The 19-year-old also received one demerit point for pointing his finger at the departing batsman, Chadwick Walton, and also made an ‘inappropriate comment’.

Pakistani

Indian

Thursday’s incident related to Rabada using inappropriate language after dismissing England batsman Ben Stokes, which were audible over the stump microphones and also resulted in the batsman to turn before walking off the field.

South African

Nathan Lyon has been fined 15% of his match fee by the ICC for dropping the ball near AB de Villiers after the South Africa batsman was run out on day four of the Durban Test.

After the incident was reviewed by the match referee Jeff Crowe, Lyon was charged with conduct contrary to the spirit of cricket, a level one offence.

Can always depend on Chris Broad

Our weak Board over the years haven't objected to his bias

I have continuously stated in this Forum , that :

" MORE CRICKET IS PLAYED OFF THE

FIELD THAN ON THE FIELD "

Comparatively recently 4 Members of
the ICC attempted to take the Lions
share of the ICC money . I can cite
further Proof .

WHO HAD THE FASTEST BOWLERS IN THE

WORLD WHEN IT WAS DECIDED TO

INTRODUCE THE 1 BOUNCER RULE IN

CRICKET ????

He was wrong and he did plead guilty.

Why not do like the ICON ... meet dem halfway on the walk back to the pavilion, stand at attention and give dem a nice salute. Dat was a ting of beauty and even the match referees must have laughed their ass off....... smile

Good lesson for Alzari, early in his career. Stay away from needless problems, and remember that cricket is a sport that is ultimately about healthy body, mind and society.

Is like these posters dont follow cricket at all.

Broad himself, although a punk who has gotten away on a few occasions has been fined before, one for a twitter comment and another time for talking back to the umpire.

I was thinking the same thing. But I understand why some people would only watch WI cricket--not enough free time.
