What a stupid question.. everyone should wear Sun screen.
I have seen very light skinned people when I was living in TT,i went back after bout 25 years and those people some of whom were family had a massive colour change.Their skin also looked rough as though it badly treated. Why not use the protection when you are roasting in that kind of heat.I had a teacher,he was what people call a "redman",it was unbelievable,he wasn't red no more.

I grew up playing in the sun all day and to this day I love the sun. The other side of the story is when you hear that same sun screen start to fact them up.
I think we're resistant to sunburn, but nobody's safe from other issues like melanoma
In reply to Tryangle
from my grandfather time to now, I never hear a black man that anybody I know knows get melanoma.

I started wearing sun screen in 1972, I had gone home to Barbados for three weeks, by the second week my skin began peeling, from the sun and the beach.
I am now using the spray instead of the cream,
Um..UV protection? Man we get real sun burn and our skin peel and flake off too!! Doesn't that happen to 'purebreds' too?

Methodic is black other handle?
Look at this black man, you think he will not use sun screen? Link Text

Indeed.
Darker skins offer a little more protection from the effects of the sun but we are not immune from the effects.

Shhhhhhhhhh!
I heard someone recently asking why black people go to the beach?
You don't want to hear my response.
In reply to methodic
You could be as black as Ace of spade ,if you are not constantly in the sun you get serious burns when you return unprotected .
why people in the Caribbean used umbrellas for the sun.
In reply to camos
interesting
In reply to Maispwi
well I don't wear it and I spend as much time in the Sun as I can. As a matter of fact I sometimes practice Sun Gazing. I also love the beach but I don't go to the beach to sit on the sand. When I go to the beach is to get in the water. The right amount of Sun makes your skin beautiful, especially the Caribbean Sun.
