Jason Holder is the lone Windies player to feature on the Test Team of the Year named by Cricket.com.au.

wink

Completing the Cricket.com.au Team of the Year are Kusal Mendis, Tom Latham, Kane Williamson, Virat Kohli, AB de Villiers, Jos Butler, Kagiso Rabada, Nathan Lyon, Mohammad Abbas and Jasprit Bumrah.

What does ICC say? They use a different period...not calendar year

And yet some here would have you believe that Ramdunce should be the WI Captain/ WK.

I for one, happen to like Jason both as an accomplished all rounder and a person who comports himself beautifully in front of the Press. He demands respect and gets it from his players.

Is he the greatest? No

Does he make mistakes? Absolutely! Sometimes it can be frustrating.

However until a new leader emerges among the ranks that can do a better job than Jason, he is the best we got.

It is amazing how quickly WI fans are prone to criticism when things do not always go their way.

I am not saying that the team is the greatest. Hell sometimes I believe they are not even qualified to play test cricket; It just seems lately that even if the team - and Holder - did something right there would still be no credit for them but rather some form of criticism.

Sammy faced a similar barrage from these haters. Perish the thought that a dottie would be the leader of a team with players from Bim, T&T and JA.

Congrats Holder,
Hoping that 2019, we can have more than one WI player among the World's XI
But for now I'm happy with Jason's accomplishment.
Man really did well batting and bowling, got soem crucial wickets.
Hoping for an improved team in 2019 both in tests and ODI's
Happy New Year all

Yet some believe he can't make this bramble team on merit.
