Ramdin back at the helm for Red Force

DENESH RAMDIN will captain the T&T Red Force squad in their second round fixture in the four-day Regional tournament, against the Leeward Islands Hurricanes at the Brian Lara Cricket Academy, Tarouba, which bowls off from Friday.

Bottom of the table last season, the Red force began the current campaign with a 76-run defeat to the Windward Islands Volcanoes earlier this month. Yesterday, the Trinidad and Tobago Cricket Board officially announced a 13-man squad, including senior West Indies players Ramdin and fast bowler Shannon Gabriel, both of whom expected to strengthen the hosts in both the batting and bowling departments, respectively.

STRONGER ‘FORCE’

The Trinidad and Tobago Red Force will be striving for a change in fortunes when the Regional four-day cricket championship resumes in 2019 and having their skipper Denesh Ramdin back in their team, along with fast-bowler Shannon Gabriel, is sure to push the current group of players to push themselves harder in a bid to keep their places.

Ramdin and Gabriel, both seasoned West Indies players, are expected to give the players a significant boost ahead of their clash with the Leeward Islands Hurricanes which bowls off on Friday at the Brian Lara Cricket Academy in Tarouba. Ramdin and Gabriel were on West Indies duties in Bangladesh and missed the domestic season opener.
