Jaguars vs Pride
Jags 4-0 in 2 overs.
The backward thinking of Bim's selectors...young quick sitting and a dart thrower more suited for the shorter format is playing
Jags 5-0 in 3 overs. TC 5*, CH 0*.
In reply to Oilah
Carter still in that team? What's with Brooks captaining, with Holder and Chase in the team?
Jags 10-0 in 4 overs. TC 8(12), CH 2(12).
In reply to Norm
Tage in yuh Page
In reply to Narper
Tage scoring like a batsman today. Good to see. Hemraj poking like rass - and missing a lot!
In reply to Norm
Yup, Carter is still there as he should be. Brooks captained when Kraigg was there last round too, no need to change in my opinion.
Roach bowling with 3 slips. At least Brooks is showing intent as a cappo.
In reply to Ray123
Springer, maybe? Carter must be the luckiest player in the region.
Pride changing ends quickly between overs. Good to see that too.
In reply to Norm
Dem bhais seh when Tage playing at home he is under too much pressure from his father and grandfather....when he plays away and dem not around he plays freely
Hemraj trying to play cautiously. Has he learnt something from his recent stint in India and Bdesh?
Miguel pitches short on Hemraj's leg stump and Hemraj promptly hooks him past square leg for 4! Then he drives a half volley past point, all along the ground, for 4 more!!!
Jags 23-0 in 6 overs. TC 8, CH 14.

Nurse to bowl. Field fairly defensive. Only a short leg and 1st slip close to the wicket.
Comms about that Nurse over: "The line was wrong, length was wrong!"
Jags 25-0 in 8 overs.
In reply to Norm
one run came off it. it was about the single.
In reply to Ray123
That last ball outside leg? Possible.
Jags 25-0 in 9 overs.
Perfect example why our cricket is going nowhere. Less than 10 overs and Bim already got an ordinary 'spinner' bowling. Bim got pacers and this is the the regular process. These ordinary spinners will continue to take the most wickets in regional cricket but can't buy a wicket at international level. What makes it worse is that Bim sent in Guyana
In reply to Ray123
Nurse's line and length terrible in his 2nd over. H's lucky that Hemraj isn't quite settled in yet.
In reply to Oilah
Same thought crossed my mind. Captain Brooks does not seem to have a bowling strategy here. He is "playing it by ear".
He could have easily tried Jason Holder if Miguel went for a few. In any case, Miguel was bowling a few good ones in between.
Holder comes on now. He's looking very stiff. Driven straight back by Hemraj for 4! Then thru mid on for 4 more!
In reply to Oilah
these selectors are doing their part in destroying B'dos cricket. Nurse is a one day cricketer yet is played ahead of a young quick. All medium to fast. The only one who could generate pace is sitting watching. Bunch of idiots really. You have Chase and Warrican what is the need for Nurse also. Fellas calling the game talking of the slowness of pitch yet none of those selected have any to begin with. Youngsters like Thomas, Holder and Harding needs to be pushed and on any wickets. Let the fellas learn the game in different conditions not just selective wickets.
Jags 34-0 in 11 overs. Hemraj 23(33). TC 10(33)
Jags 34-0 in 12 overs. Good middle-off line and length by Nurse in that over, to Tage.
Hoping Tage sun dem out
Jags 40-0 in 16 overs at the first drinks break. CH 25(46 balls), TC 14(51)
Jags 40-0 in 17 overs. Maiden from Holder, but he is looking very rusty and far from his best. Makes you wonder why Cummins was taken off so quickly.
In reply to Norm
I am her thinking of going down to Bim for the test match but these selectors in Bim and CWI have such poor judgement I am rethinking my plans. When you can select Nurse and sit Holder and Harding it makes you pause. A nothing cricketer over a young pacer how do you rationalize that. West Indies cricket is dying for young pacers and you have two watching for?
In reply to seaegg99
True. Regional selectors need to keep an eye on the future. Sometimes you have to play the young players, even if they seem not entirely ready. Young Rishbah Pant came well with the bat yesterday for India, despite his relative inexperience at the senior level.
Cummins back. Spraying it all over now. Driven thru the covers by Hemraj for 4! Then edged thru the slips, but not carrying, for 4 more!
Jags 49-0 in 19 overs.
Jags 49-0 in 20 overs. Quick maiden by Nurse.
Cummins again, to Hemraj. Edges to Nurse at 2nd slip, who juggles it and puts it down!
Tage has 14 runs from 63 balls with 56 dots. WOW.
In reply to Norm
are you comparing Pant with these guys, Pant has scored a triple and has a 50 ave in fc cricket.
In reply to tc1
Am comparing youth to youth.
Jags 51-0 in 21 overs. Cummins 5-1-29-0.
In reply to Norm
what is that
In reply to tc1
Seaegg said that youth Chemar Holder was omitted while older bowlers with less WI Test potential were being played.
Hemraj drives Cummins sweetlt thru the covers for 4 more!
Jags 64-0 in 23 overs. CH 48(72). TC 14(69).
In reply to tc1
Some are developed and some are not. We are doing a piss poor job of developing talent. I would fire all of Bim's selectors. Blocking development of young talent should be the focus of losing teams. Game day you sit and watch retreads with no path forward blocking progress. Young talent find something else to do and drift away. Cricket is not the only show in town these days.
Warrican to bowl, to Tage. Maiden.
Jags 64-0 in 24 overs.
In reply to Norm
My focus is on Nurse, who really have no path for the longer versions of the game, playing while Holder and Harding sit. You already have Chase and Warrican (test spinners) playing. West Indies test team is begging for fast bowlers yet we sit two of the more promising in the region to play three spinners. Nurse getting all 20 wickets does nothing to move the game of cricket forward in the WI.
In reply to seaegg99
Carty and Alzarri doing well for Leewards
Keemo, Hety doing decent for Windies
Springer and Holder.. de other stand out players from that batch of U19 cant get a chance..
The way Carty batting he might make the senior team soon.. The way Barbados treating Springer and Holder their careers might end soon..
Is a good thing Archer went to England.. He woulda probably be an unknown if he remained in Bim ..
In reply to seaegg99
At Kensington Oval, I cannot disagree.
Some of the comms are saying the same thing too.
Warrican to Hemraj, who drives him thru the covers for 4 more!!! 52 to Hemraj.
Hemraj drives it thru the covers to 4 more!!!! Goes to 56.
Hemraj hits another Warrican delivery straight back over long on for SIX!!! Goes to 62.
Jag 79-0 in 28 overs. CH 62(86), TC 14(85)
Chase to bowl. Short on leg and driven to the long on boundary by Tage for 4!
Jags 83-0 in 29 overs.
Comms: "Guyanese are the best people you will ever meet."
There you have it!
Jags 83-0 off 30 overs. Lunch!
Pride not looking very competitive here. Cummins is spraying it all over, Nurse is unsteady and Holder is very rusty. Roach and Warrican are ok, but not threatening.
On the other hand, Hemraj looks in ominous form, and he has learned to be a bit cautious as well.
This looks like a long haul for the Pride.
In reply to seaegg99
On a Kensington pitch on the first day of a match before lunch your spinners bowled as many overs as your quickies.
Thats what cricket in Barbados has come to.
The Cricket minded people in the Island, missed the plot with the performance of young players at the U19 WC.
We send our best young players to represent us, then the outstanding performers are left out of regional teams.
Youngsters like Pant and Shaw and others, return home and settle in the County, State and Shield clubs.
Regional cricket is at the same level as the same level as county cricket, that's why I believe, youngsters like Springer and Holder performance merit a starting position
In reply to Norm
Them in Bim talk too much garbage on the damn mic. instead of taking people that run things to task for their ineptitude.
Jags 88-0 in 32 overs. CH 67(95), TC 18(100)
Roach to Tage. Drives beautifully thru the covers for 4! Jags move from 99-0 to 103-0.

In reply to Norm
Would fire all the selectors and the captain after this match. Thinking too local. Just can't see the big picture at all. Player development is like a new foreign language to them.
In reply to seaegg99
Big problem across the region. It's good to have past cricketers involved in cricket administration, but then you have to deal with nepotism, as they give in to pressure from their clubs and friends, at the expense of territorial or regional cricket.
Tage goes for 37 off 150 balls!!! Skies Warrican recklessly to mid on, where Holder takes the catch.
Jags 134-1 in 46.4 overs. CH 93(134)
Leon Johnson in.
Tage bat 25 overs for 37 runs....

Jags 140-1 in 49 overs. CH 99(140) LJ 0(9) Maiden from Warrican
Chase to bowl to Hemraj on 99.
Hemraj guides it to third man for 2 and gets his first ever first class hundred! He's happy! Waves bat and helmet to his teammates and spectators.
Celebrates by clouting chase over mid wicket for SIX!!!!
Jags 150-1 in 50 overs. CH 109 (146) LJ 0(9)
Jags 153-1 in 51 overs. CH 110 (149) LJ 2(11)
In reply to Kay
Him was in the nets
A very subdued 37.
There is such a thing as batting too slowly. One...it eases the pressure on the bowlers. Two...an error will eventually occur...out with little runs for your team. A positive approach with no increase in risk will always yield better returns.
CONGRATS Hemraj...hold de opening spot vs England
In reply to Bigzinc
this is the precursor to Test cricket no.......doesn't every team need a "Dravid Pujara or Chanderpaul"?
at least everybody gets fed, hate it when the same 11 plays T20 /ODI/TEST, that was how we ended up with the horse leading the cart in the first place (no reins).
now BIM bowlers tired and tail down.............just saying!
....dem BIM supporters got plenty criticism about how Guyana does things!
Warrican to Johnson. Hits him straight back for a big SIX!
Jags 164-1 in 53 overs. LJ 8(18 ) CH 114(154)
Chase to Hemraj. Short on leg and promptly pulled over mid wicket for SIX!!!
Jags 172-1 in 52 overs. CH 121(157) LJ 9
Bim bowling nuff jobby
Holder comes back. Hemraj drives him straight back high and hard. One bounce over the boundary for 4! Goes to 125. Drives to mid wicket next ball for 3 more. Goes to 128.
Jags 179-1 in 56 overs. CH 128(161) LJ 9(29)
Congrats to Hemraj... But after seeing him bat recently at International level and see that he has scored such a Quick century makes me wonder about the bowlers.
In reply to Pacy
Roach, Cummins, J Holder, Warrican, Chase.
In reply to Norm
The bowling attack is good on paper but so far bowling nuff crap
Johnson pops it back to J Holder and he's caught and bowled for 14, off 45 balls - off the very last ball before the Tea break!
Jags 199-2 in 60 overs. CH 143(169) at Tea.

Vishaul Singh in, and Nurse to resume the bowling.
Turned behind leg by Hemaj and the 200 is up.
Jags 200-2 in 60.1 overs.
Hemraj plays on to a good length Nurse arm ball for 144! The ball was on too good a length for playing a back foot shot.
Jags 201-3 in 61 overs.
In reply to openning
It has started that way.
In reply to Norm
This is the West Indies way, I am not surprise with what's happening.
Singh given out lbw to one pitching outside leg and going down the leg side! Ah, well. That's the game.
Jags 214-5 in 70.5 overs.
Wtf.. Why this waste Bramble batting ahead of Sherfane?
Griffith yall need to stop this shyte.. No way Bramble and Barnwell should be batting ahead of Sherfane!
In reply to Norm&anthonyp
Guys, seeing Reifa is bajan, Using Guyana's government math, shouldn't his score be divided (/) by half?
I think Barbados have a case in court.
My point is this....why drop your fastest bowler Harding, include Three spinners and then put the opposition to bat at Kensington?
My thought was that Barbados should have batted first.

In reply to Norm
I am profoundly disappointed ,notwithstanding the fact that my countrymen had a good day in Barbados today. Normally an opening batsman from Guyana scoring a big ton at Kensington is a big deal since he would have negotiated successfully a searching examination from a few express fast bowlers on a pitch which has some pace and bounce.Instead from over # 10 our opener was facing Ashley Nurse's tepid off spinners. This innings tells us very little about the youngster's readiness for test cricket but a whole lot about the Bajan selectors.

In reply to Dukes
Truth be told, the batters did not dispatch the spinners away with scorn and disdain - that's what must be done by regional batters!
In reply to Dukes
Very good point.
People vexed that Barbados played 2 front line, experienced spinners in this match at the apparent expense of playing 2 young fast bowling prospects.
All selectors try to pick the team they deem best to get a positive result.
The selectors jobs on a franchise team in a regional competition is not to select players who have potential.
The PCL is supposed to be a professional franchise league. Each feanchisees goal is to win. Development, is secondary. Thats how it is in Pro sports unless youre a team with no hope of winning and you play your youngsters with a view to the future.
Barbados Pride franchise is not in that position.
So forgive their selectors for picking a team that they will has the best chance of WINNING
And if in the process it means Ashley Nurse comes in to bowl at over #10, so be it.
Besides, what proof is there that Harding &/or Chemar Holder would have done any better than Nurse and Warrican? Suppose they played and served up half volleys, wayward with line and length and get catered all over the field? Not uncommon for inexperienced bowlers by the way. People would have felt better because they bowl fast?
People vex when the regional 4 day competition sucks. They say our players dont play enough cricket and cricket is not their full time job. That has now been addressed.
People still vex, but for another reason. Just goes to show...you cant please anyone.
In reply to imusic
Later this year you will be selecting your draft choices in the NBA and who should be traded.
I look at these franchises the same way, the top level for our youngsters is the U19 wc, performance at that level is about any local club cricket.
The top performers from the U19 WC, should be among the thirteen selected by the franchises.
Jimmy Anderson, Kohli and others made their country state or county teams, right after the wc.
We have players like Carter, Nurse Brooks who has been in the system for over 10 years, with the Pride not winning the trophy.
In reply to openning
Is not like Pride does not give youngsters an opportunity
Hype, Kraigg Brathwaite and Shai Hope are all young players that have been given their opportunity. You might include Dowrich and Warrican as well
Youre not going to play a team with all youngsters. nbA doesnt do it.
Chemar Holder, Springer, and Harding are deemed not good enough YET by the Pride selectors. They not alone
In reply to imusic
Springer came out of the WC as one of the top performers, he like Joseph and Hetty should be starters in the regional competition.
This group is now the seniors, Springer's performance out of the wc, got him drafted into the Trident and Pride 50 overs team.
He was among the top performers for the Pride in the Regional 50 overs and the CWI B team in Canada tournament.
Barbados selectors, don't understand talent.
Springer get my pick as an allrounderto start for all Pride teams, after Jason Holder.
Jofra Arthur moved to England, because he was left in the wilderness, once a youngster perform at the WC, he should be invested in.
That the highest contest to rate these U19 at.
In reply to Norm
youngsters like Springer and holder have not performed to that level to be given a play, the last group of bim u19 that performed and merit a play at the national level were KB, chase, holder and Dowrich.
Our wi u19 players are not in the same class as the Indians players , who played at the national level even before going to the world cup.
In reply to tc1
Do you actually followed U19 WC?
Shamar Springer was the talk by the world, after his performance, he should not be sitting for any other allrounder, if JH is not around.
Dude playing local cricket right now in him, is not as competitive as it has been, young Holder got a 5 wicket haul a few years ago, in a regional competition.
In reply to imusic
Thank you, the youngster should be in a development league, not a national league.Harding maybe the only one to make the team base on speed.
if you look at the Indian u19 team their batsmen avg 45+ even before going to the WC u19 .
In reply to openning
Much more for his celebrations after taking a wicket than for anything he did on the field
In reply to openning
Does the above make sense to you, do you know how many Aussie, Indians and SA youth have dominated the u19 world cup before.
Springer was draft as a franchise player what was his return.
Greaves has outperformed Springer as a allrounder, even Primus has done so. Springer is a good player but he needs to produce at a higher level.
In reply to tc1
Dude check the U19 batting stats coming out of the WC, Pant was part of that wc, and is now in the Indian test team.
I am not advocating for Springer playing for West Indies, I am saying he should be starting for Club Pride.
Link Text
You really don't follow too much cricket, or maybe bias to the Cajan Elite.
Springer was the top Pride performer after this year 50 overs completion, winning player of the match a couple times, he was injured in 2017.
He and Greaves performed well for the CWI B team squad as openers, in the Canadian competition.
We've seen Primus at the regional level
Here is the Pride stats in the last 50 overs competition, tell the world why Greaves and Primus should be selected ahead of Springer.
Barbados Pride batting and bowling stats CWI 50 overs 2018/19
In reply to imusic
Along with the ton he scored in the competition and his bowling, this article speaks for itself.
Shamar Springer had plenty to dance about after an incisive spell with the ball and a match-winning unbeaten 62
In reply to openning
Who is the cajan elite?
We are discussing the 4D competition and you are posting the 50 0vers. Post Springer avg in the 50 overs comp
In reply to tc1
that auto correct changed B to C.
I am stating he should be selected for the four day competition when Jason Holder is not in the X1.
Have you not seen what Hetty, Paul, Joseph and other from that U19 squad is doing?
These guys are now playing at the International level, and Springer is sitting, watching under-performers playing for Barbados.
In reply to openning
he still has to put in numbers, he was in the 14 man squad , in the net is where you have to claim your place, you have to out bowled, bat and out field your team mates.
Hety, Paul and Jos made their regional teams before going to U19, He has to demonstrated that he is ready for the next level like Dowrich, Holder and KB did after returning from u19.
Bye the way, Springer, Harding are all bajan elite
In reply to tc1
It folks with this talk that will continue to kill WI cricket with the lack of foresight talk. Springer could make this team on his batting alone. Idiots just focus on him as an allrounder. Chase and KB bowl offspin. The extra pace of Harding or Holder is more needed than Nurse. Nurse is not needed in the longer versions of the game. How are these fellas going to develop sitting on the sidelines. Others will come and pass because they are given a chance to produce. Bim though would not allow them to be drafted by other teams I would bet. Good OLE boy network got Nurse in there. Selectors should be fired. If Archer didn't show you why WI stagnate then nothing would.
In reply to seaegg99
Springer has not put forward the numbers, as well as Chemar , every youngster that played an inning , we wish to place on the team. When you are on the squad you outplay your teammates to make the team in the nets.
who is the good olde boy network- Springer and Harding went to Cmere.
I would be one of the first to say play Springer if his numbers were outstanding. his numbers are avg.
Archer failed to make the wc12 team, the pick was between him or his team mate Jones, both bowled crap in the series against Bangladesh, the last game Jones came thru.
Bim u19 class of 10, KB, Dowrich, Holder, Warrican demonstrated and put forth numbers and advance to the national team . Chase who did not go to the WC, . performed and made it to the international team
The Board has to revive its A Team, B Team, U23 Team or whatever they want to call it if promising cricketers are to be prevented from falling thru the cracks.
Its a shame dat players like Moti, Hemraj, Greaves, to name a few, all around 24 - 25 have played 26 or less FC or List A matches. Den we cuss dem when dey get exposed at the higher level.
The franchises are paying lip service to the system and with exceptions that you can count one one hand and still have digits remaining, have failed us thus far.
They doh release promising talent but have dem riding the bench and pick marginal players to fullfil the two man quota who are then easily benched.
That is why the Board should pick a developmental team each year and have them play in the tournament.

ANTHONY BRAMBLE 53 (62)
RAYMON REIFER 61 (81)
In reply to tc1
If you or the selectors have not seen that Cummings and Nurse have reached their ceilings then they should not be selectors. You will continue to play under performing players and expect different results (WI). Young talented players will always have inconsistent performances and that is because they are learning a new level. Sitting on the bench with one or two games per year will not help their development.
Right now you have senior players that are inconsistent and will not get better. You also have youngsters who need the time on the field to marry their obvious talent with game experience. Who the hell care what schools they went to. Your job is to develop talent not just put so called name brand players on the pitch. Lucky a player like Fidel was seen by someone outside Bim and not let become average.
If you watched any of the few matches the past two years you would see that Holder and Harding looked way better than Cummings. Nurse is a one day player and should not take a youth play.

Nurse is coming back from an injury he needs some time to get back to form, however this is where the CWI should have had a team like the Combine Colleges to accommodate players who are good enough to make other teams, but due to seniority they cannot make their local team.
In reply to dayne
I agree with the and additional team to get more players and more games played. We play way too little competitive cricket for some of these fellas to get better. We are forcing the better players to learn at the international level instead of prior to getting to that level. My point is you have to be able to allow for talent to flourish not stagnate and be lost. Nurse and Cummings are not on an upward trend in production injured or otherwise. You have to be able to see that Harding, Holder and Springer are.
You keep that WI U-19 team intact and playing in the regional tournament might have been the best thing for West Indies cricket. They all need to get as much game time experience. Enough of the name brand cricket.

One would think that players like Nurse, Carter, Brooks, Nurse and Cummins, has been stars in this competition.
They are not and could easily be replace with younger productive players. Harding outplayed Cummins so far this regional, Harding or Holder should replace him, Springer should had replaced an injured Greaves in the last two matches.

Got these youngsters waiting for a chance and preforming locally.. All are U20
Kevin Sinclair - off spinning allrounder
Kevlon Anderson - most talented U20 batsman in the country.. Bowls medium too
Bhaskar Yadram - another allrounder jus need to work on fitness
Ronaldo Ali Mohammed - Allrounder again.. Made the super50 squad already
Why is Guyana still batting?
Brings back memories of 1975 (or there abouts) when Guyana put 500 plus in Bim but the big difference...Guyana had Fredericks, Kalli, lloyd and I think Rohan was there as well. First time I saw Croft. Lashley was the skipper of Bim.

You were the one that brought up the' good olde boys' not me, I am saying that these youth need to produce more.
Bim 08/10 class of players produced and was rewarded to the regional and international team- Dowrich, warrican, Holder , Chase and KB.
you are falling the trap, Fidel was in bim squad and had played a game or 2 for Bim as a 21 yo, the selectors had exposed him to regional cricket.
In reply to imusic
Do you still agree with the Bajan selectors in leaving out a young tearaway fast bowler and playing Nurse, a journeyman 30 year old slow bowler who is not being considered for test selection?
In reply to Dukes
Nurse has been their best spinner by a distance!
JAGUARS 542/9 (144.0 Ov)
PERMAUL 27 (54)
BRAMBLE 129 (205)
In reply to Dukes
Many bajans don't like Nurse, I followed Nurse when he made the 2007 Bim u19 team,he was not the star player, but he scored and bowled well.
Fast forward , he still plays above people expectations of him.maybe if he was 20 lbs lighter, his critics would accept him.
he is a good fieldsman and hits the ball on his day.
I would agree that young Harding deserved a place, but not at the expensive of Nurse.
In reply to tc1
Can Nurse make a WICB/CWI test team at this time?
A bit of drizzle and Tea has been taken early, with the Jags on 542-9, with Bramble on 129 and Permaul on 27. It's very overcast at the ground. It would be ironic if the pitch livened up with this drizzle and the Jags route Pride for a low score.
In reply to openning
Is that the only requirement for selection to the bim team?
he is on the ODI and the T20 teams.
In reply to Larr Pullo
True, but that is probably because Holder is playing like a half cripple and Warrican seems to be not very interested in the match. You have to wonder if that is fair to the Pride players who were left out, who would like to show their worth.
If Holder were not fully it, as it seems, he should have not played. That is not fair to guys like Harding.
In reply to Norm
Harding is the only youth that has shown he should be in the X1, the rest have not done enough to dislodge the seniors.
KB, Chase and Dowrich will use this a tune up to the test series against England, but you never know .
Jags resume their innings now.
In reply to tc1
It's a hard call between youth and performance in cricket. Do we give the promising young players a chance to develop, at the expense of seasoned players who may be good enough for regional cricket, but with no future at a higher level?
If you don't give the promising young players a chance, you will slump after the good-enough players fade away. On the other hand, if you give the young players their breaks too easily, they take their breaks for granted and never develop. Or, they fail because they were simply not good enough.
In reply to tc1
Again, is this fair to the Pride franchise or young Pride prospects? Shouldn't Windies take care of their of its own preparations, with Windies practice matches, etc? Why should young first class prospects lose out because of Windies needs?

It is disrespectful to the regional competition and players for some players to use these matches mainly to prepare for West Indies duties. This lowers the quality of the competition, robs young prospects of valuable opportunities and lowers interest in the game overall.
If West Indies players play in the regional competition, they should play solely for their regional team. I think the problems associated with this situation were clearly visible in the performance of the Pride team in this match.

We are the only nation that pushes youth who are not ready, look at all the set up in world cricket, u19 , 23 are in a development league, look at the avg of our u19 players, none avg in the 30, our senior franchise players failed to avg 35.
I am one for playing the youth, but let them perform at the level before entering the regional team.
All international team prepare by sending their senior to the fc set up before the test series.

THIS WAS JUST EARLIER LAST YEAR 2018
Last Bajan fast bowler took wickets at Kensington..Harding 5/66 vs Jamaica
Last time Barbados vs Guyana at Kensington...leading fast bowler Chemar Holder 5/57 and 3/72 including Shiv bowled for 0
Kensington is ALWAYS ideal for young fast bowlers!

Kraigg has moved back to a square stance so far, and is balance , not moving his left foot, prior to the delivery.
Pride 13-0 in 5 overs and the covers come on again. Another drizzle.
Hemraj drop Kraigg at second slip off Shepherd..

Fire the selectors. Have no clue how to select a team. Their policy is just play the favorites. Young pacers sitting for spinners at the Oval.
Short ball and KB dropped in the slips. GT got more fire power than BIM.
was a good game not to get picked as a bowler!
In reply to seaegg99
Have a look at Kraigg's defence, he is playing in the crease, not getting forward or back, a jump to defend, making the ball seem like it is keeping low
What about in line of the ball
In reply to openning
KB wouldn't make it back in the day. His body would be attacked every ball. Nothing at all to drive. Would just be pushed back and he doesn't seem to have a backfoot shots. Nurse destroyed Dowe with cuts and pulls with effortless ease.

Pride 106-1 in 29 overs. KB 41(85) SB 34(48 ).
Shepherd continues his long spell.

Comms: Rakeen Cornwall, who currently has 4 wickets against Red Force, should be allowed to play for WI, despite his inability to make fitness standards.

Cornwall's performances so far...94 runs @ an average of 31.33, and just six wickets - the following spinners have taken more: Shillingford (17), Warrican (13), Imran (13), Permaul (12), Miller (11), Walsh (7).
Why should Cornwall be allowed to leapfrog others who have performed better than him in the PCL?
Talking about under-performers...Kraigg is way down the list of opening batsmen in this PCL so far.

KB struggled to find form. Roston Chase in.
In reply to mikesiva
"taken"? You mean "pelt out", right?
These were "taken". Your point is taken tho. Rakeem still has a long way to go to match these guys as a bowler, thus far in this tournament. Plus, Rakeem is a huge problem in the field.
Carter looks like he will be dismissed at any moment. Chase looks calm enough.
Pestano working up some pace here. Smooth run up and bowling action.
Pride 122-3 in 38 overs. JC 10(21) RC 0(11)
Permaul continues, to Carter, with forward and backward short legs. Permaul pitching it on Carter's pads.
Pride 122-3 in 39 overs. JC 10(27) RC 0(11)
Pestano to Chase. Raps him painfully on the glove with one that cuts back and bounces from off to leg. Chase shakes his hand vigorously.
Pride 123-3 in 40 overs. JC 10(29) RC 1(15)
Permaul to Chase. Flighted outside off. Chase tries to cut and edges to the lone slip, Johnson, and he's caught!!!! He did not look like he wanted to stay in there after being hit on the glove by Pestano.
Pride 123-4 in 40.5 overs. JC 10(29). Dowrich in, needing to rescue his team yet again!
Pride 123-4 in 41 overs. JC 10(29) SD 0(1)

They have been quite good.
Pestano to Carter. Drives nicely thru extra cover for 4! Carter drives far away from his body, thru the covers now, for 4 more! Dangerous shot.
Pride 131-4 in 42 overs. JC 18(35) SD 0(1)
Permaul to Dowrich. Lifts it over mid on for 4. Strange aggression from Dowrich, this early in his innings. Flighted ball to Carter driven, again away from his body, to point for 4 more!
Pride 140-4 in 43 overs. JC 22(37) SD 5(5)
Barnwell replaces Pestano. Bowling a full length. Short one outside off sits up and is cut hard past point by Dowrich for 4!
In reply to Norm
An old Guyanese bloke told me that in the late 50s or could have been 60s that Guyana was playing Bim,needless to say the Bim commentators were sure that Bim would cut the Guyana bowlers to bits.Anyway a young Lance Gibbs start cutting through the Bim Batsmen and a Bim commentator was heard saying,"oh skunt Weeks clean bowled",Gibbs was the bowler.I don't know if it is a true story. The bloke's name was Clarke and he said he knew Lloyd as a lil boy.
In reply to granite
Hahahahaha! I don't know if that was true, but that fits the profile of some Bajans - assuming "superiority" over other West Indians!
Rutherford to bowl. His bowling looks rusty. He hasn't bowled in a while, because of an injury.
Pride 145-4 in 45 overs. JC 22(43) SD 9(11)
Barnwell to Dowrich. Pulls a short ball from outside off to mid wicket and is nearly caught by Reifer. Goes for 4!
Carter settling in, Dowrich seems determined to be caught somewhere on the leg side.
Pride 150-4 in 45 overs. JC 22(46) SD 14(14)
Rutherford again. Bowling way too short, and just at medium. Pulled away to square leg for 4 by Dowrich! A couple of quicker bouncers played confidently.
Pride 154-4 in 47 overs. JC 22(47) SD 18(18 )
Barnwell again to Dowrich. Short outside off and bouncing. Dowrich slap thru the covers for 4 more!
Pride 164-4 in 48 overs. JC 27(49) SD 23(24)
Carter getting medical attention. Seems to have pulled something.
In reply to Norm
Did Barnwell kick the stumps and knock off the bails after Dowrich Square cut him for four?
In reply to anthonyp
Nah! He turned around quickly in disgust and hurried back to his bowling mark. Johnson was having a word with the square leg ump at one point tho. Maybe Barnwell did something he wasn't supposed to, but I did not see it.
Pride 164-4 in 49 overs. JC 27(49) SD 23(30). That's lunch.
In reply to anthonyp
it's a 3 day pitch, do you tink it is playing the same way?
In reply to tc1
It's playing the same way it did on Day 1, but Shepherd and Pestano are bowling with a lot more intent than the Pride pacers, except Roach.
Jags came here to win this match. Half the Pride team seems to have showed up only because they were told to.
Play resumes after lunch. Shepherd to bowl.
Pride 169-4 in 50 overs. JC 28(50) SD 27(34).

Pride 189-4 in 56 overs. SD 43(59) JC 32(62). Jags were 179-3 in 56 overs.
If these two can stay for a good time you will surely get your money's worth of visual entertainment
Carter and Dowrich doing a good job for the Pride.

Dowrich batting freely and really well here!

Pride 257-4 in 72 overs. SD 77(106) JC 63(112)
Rutherford bounces to Dowrich, who pulls to Permaul at mid on and he's caught on the second attempt!!!
Pride 264-5 in 74 overs. SD out 81(112) JC 66(119)
Good knock by Dowrich. He continues to show his immense value as a batsman to his teams. His keeping keeps improving too, as his lightning fast stumping of Rutherford showed, in the Jaguars' innings.
Holder edges well away from Barnwell at 2nd slip and it runs down to 3rd man for 4!
