ALLOW NEUTRAL INVESTIGATION OF CHARRANDAS

Emir 2019-01-06 10:52:51

The Government of Guyana (GOG)have been detrimentally stung by the Charrandas bug, is now looking to see if any legal avenues exist to stay the vote of no confidence, albeit justifiably so, given recent information pertaining to the character and questionable intention of Charrandas- a man who appears to be power hungry and attention starved.

Meanwhile, the opposition outright reject any move to stay the vote, and rightfully so, given the dubious history of this seemingly blighted land whose people are mostly a collection of two major ethnic groups (both with black/dark skin) who have failed to build a non racial nation/country.

So what is the solution: Outright one must discourage the government from unilaterally staying the no confidence vote, despite the failure of the opposition to form a racially diverse party that represents all Guyanese. To stay the vote will be bad business for Guyana and a blow to democracy.

Instead, the GOG must invite a neutral third party, perhaps CARICOM or the Carter foundation to conduct an independent investigation into Charrandas' intention and to further explore if there was any conspiracy.

If the investigation fails to find strong evidence of a conspiracy, the GOG must follow the constitution.

Estoppel Definition: A rule of law that when person A, by act or words, gives person B reason to believe a certain set of facts upon which person B takes action, person A cannot later, to his (or her) benefit, deny those facts or say that his (or her) earlier act was improper. cool

I believe a third party intervention is best for the country. Those supporters of the ruling regime will feel hard done if there is doubt as to the legitimacy of the no vote process. And likewise those supporters of the opposition will quite rightly feel the same if the government unilaterally stay the no vote result.

What you then have is one side feeling cheated. Guyana needs all its people to feel included. The only way to achieve this end is for a neutral party to be the umpire.

Your thoughts?

and attention starved.

That's you.

What makes you an EXPERT on the Guyana society and it's politics?

You are behaving like Trump...apparently forming your opinion based on your bigoted gut feeling...conveniently ignoring the FACTS

I will continue to form my opinion on well known activists like Freddie Kissoon and David Hinds....who have fought against the excessive of Burnham in the 70s......fought against the excessiveness of PPP for years in the 2000s....and were an integral part of the coalition movement which gained office in 2015....within a year both gentlemen were pointing out the excessiveness of this current coalition government.

I happy to debate the merits of my post, but if you insist in juvenile name calling and throwing insults at me, then I refuse to go so low.

When dictators were ruling it is ok. When they get stopped, dem supporter bawling for outsider godfathers to come in and save the bullies. razz

I bet you they try to keep power by hook or by crook.
Such is the nature of the beasts.

Basically, even if someone is in parliament illegally, whatever he has voted for so far cannot be undone after the fact.
