Starting this today.

Has anyone tried this diet? If so, did you hit your goal?
How was it in your opinion?

It is amusing to see people make lifelong poor decisions and then decide that the fix is to go against basic common sense.

Started in April last year at 21% body fat. I am now at 14% body fat, eating at maintenance. My blood work before was good. Did some three weeks ago, will check on them when i get back this week.

It is great for fat loss but muscles shrunk, due to lack of glycogen i have learned but i feel much better mentally.

I am looking to bulk when i get back using the TKD approach to minimize fat gains.

I followed the Ketogains 5x5 program and was making good progress on my lifts. Been in Jamaica a couple of weeks and not lift at all since.

That's amazing. I'm looking to lose some of the holiday weight. I'm incorporating cardio and weight training with it.

WHen you asked about this last year, I said:

all diets work for the time you follow it. Ketogenic diets are proven to be effective for weight loss.

But, is this something you can maintain for an extended period?

If not you're just wasting time. You'll quickly regain the weight once your "diet" is over.

Permanent lifestyle change is the only way to achieve and maintain healthy weight.

Intermittent fasting works for me. Been doing it for 12 years now. It allows me to have full hearty meals whenever I want while remaining comfortably lean!

Keto should be a lifestyle. IF is a powerful tool and along with Keto could probably even reverse cancer!

Today mark my first 2 full day on the keto diet.
I'm already down 5 lbs.

Mostly water weight probably. Drink about a gallon of water daily, take your potasium vitamin or eat some natural almonds and add good amount of salt to your food. This will prevent loss of electrolytes and help to avoid the 'keto flu'.

I figured its mostly the water weight. I've noticed some symptoms of the keto flu.

Feeling a little better today so I plan on going to get some cardio in.
