Tage: 47 from 220 @ 21 SR
In reply to RemainsUnknown
Give me 47 and still be there....and part of a 200 run partnership........than 27 from 17 balls and gone.....in a 4 day game

Shiv knew how to work the ball into gaps and rotate the strikes.
Tage doesn't. He got away with it this innings, but that type of batting will not work at the higher levels and against better opponents.
In reply to Narper
Because of Tage Bramble is free to play his natural game
In reply to RemainsUnknown
but in the overall scheme of things, guyana are in a pretty strong position and that is what is the key...
over 200 runs scored while chanderpaul is at the wicket with bramble...
In reply to RemainsUnknown
Ah felt sorry for the chap.. Almost all the spectators at the ground went cussing him..
Man getting long hop n blocking.. Sadly if he continue to bat like this he won't make the WI test team
In reply to anthonyp
He must be emulating paint. Blocking half volleys has now become an art form at a time when batsmen are armed with turbo charged bats. What a crime.
Runs like his dad too...
In reply to Larr Pullo
I thought Shiv wasnt his dad!
In reply to RemainsUnknown
Do not diss Shv. SHiv never batted like this. Shiv was one of the best at hitting the gaps and always put away the bad deliveries. He always rotated strike very well.
In reply to WI_cricfan
Because of Tage?
LMAO!
In reply to anthonyp
What sad about it?
Batting like that, West Indies fans happy too bad he never comes anywhere near any West Indies team
Stumps : Day 1
GUYANA JAGUARS 307/6 (90.0 Ov)
TAGENARINE CHANDERPAUL 71* (298 )
Okay the man will come out blazing tomorrow.....remember you can't mek runs from the pavillion
In reply to imusic
DARREN BRAVO lbw ROVMON POWELL 18(51
In reply to Narper
Now that's the kind of player that should be in any WI team
FALL OF WICKETS 1 - 4(KYLE HOPE, 0.4 ov) , 2 - 23(JEREMY SOLOZANO, 4.6 ov) , 3 - 57(DARREN BRAVO, 17.1 ov) , 4 - 64(DENESH RAMDIN, 19.6 ov) , 5 - 64(JASON MOHAMMED, 20.3 ov)
I'm not saying I won't pick Tage if he continues to score runs... I'm just acknowledging that he's making them at friggin snail's pace, innings after innings...... I hope he gets better at piercing the field and finding gaps and learn the art of batting more and more... that's all.
In reply to RemainsUnknown
When you start a thread like dat...you bound to get some licks from the Shiv's base here
He might only be 22 but he's played almost 30 FC matches.
Unless the pitch is an absolute minefield, for an opener go a full day without scoring a century is a bit embarrassing.
Was Bramble lucky to have Chanderpaul or was it vice-versa?
In reply to Narper
I'm part of the Shiv base here and EVERYWHERE..... I call it how I see it tho......

Titties wish dem had a Tage
In reply to WICFan
those are the finer points, indeed, without having to say it all......

Titties wish dem had a Tage wink
What, nothing looked fat all day?
In reply to WICFan
How many other openers around the WI can bat a full day's play?
For a 4 day game...with a 1st day score of over 300...nothing to be ashamed of....71*
Room for improvement ....yes....embarrassment... no
In reply to Narper
If it wasn't for Bramble they wouldn't have got anywhere near the total they did.
In reply to Narper
"Room for improvement ....yes....embarrassment... no"
Narps, putting things into perspective, Tage, out of 90 overs, he batted 49.4 overs for 71 runs. That is more than half the overs face by the rest of the batsmen. Counting the 4's, 3's and 2's he made, can u think of how many dotballs he faced? And this is playing fc cricket for almost 7 years...
Room for improvement? I doubt it!
In reply to RemainsUnknown
In the totally of things, if Tage didnt hang around the side wouldve probably be bowled out on day 1...
In reply to WICFan... that's why it's called a team sport.
In reply to natty_forever
An opener needing almost 50 overs for 71 runs.
In years to come, they'll hardly be telling this one to the grandkids with great pride.
In reply to tops
250 dot balls according to de WI site
In reply to Maispwi
41.4 overs...
In reply to WICFan
Yeah, that in Tests , a batsman can also help his team by grinding the opposition bowlers into mental and physical fatigue.
I still remember the day when Jimmy and Lara kept Aus at bay when total collapse was expected.
Yesterday Tage played the role of Jimmy. If that's his only skill-set then cudos to the coach and Captain on figuring out a way to maximize the team benefit.
This is PCL, not a West Indies training academy. Winning Matters!

Okay...lets put things into perpective
leon Johnson...playing for 15 years made 5 from 6 balls...any comment on dat?
Trevon Griffith...playing for 7 years made 14 from 19...any comment on dat?
Room for improvement? Embarassment?
In reply to Narper
Oh rass budday....you aint get the memo? Tage will never be good enough.
The selectors should drop him. He doesnt fit into WI scheme of things. We need attractive stroke makers, with high scoring rates to decimate the opposition. The problems is, where will you find them???
In reply to Narper
leon Johnson...playing for 15 years made 5 from 6 balls...any comment on dat?
Yes! A total waste of space. I think others deserve his spot. I don't think he should just be pick for captaincy.
Room for improvement? NOOOOOOOO!
Embarassment? YES!!!
Trevon Griffith...playing for 7 years made 14 from 19...any comment on dat?
The less said the better...
Room for improvement? I don't think U should mention improvement and Griffit in the same sentense
Embarassment? Nah, I am actually surprise he made 14...
In reply to runout
Naah...most of the bhais here expect more from him...higher standards....they want him to do well
except the usual suspects...who also hated his father
Match over with more than a session to spare
Tage not out again
In reply to Narper
He batted very well in this inns. He put away the bad balls and rotated the strike.
