You think he could bat like that at international or even at County level, and get away with it?

Larr Pullo 2019-01-10 15:14:24

In reply to WI_cricfan

At a 50% scoring clip, something that should be doable on this pitch by any talented batsman, he would have scored about 136 by now. smile smile

Are Leon Johnson and Hetmyer talented batsmen?

bcinu 2019-01-10 16:39:46

In reply to Larr Pullo

Yeah, but whey all de 50+ SR batsmen deh now, with exception of Bramble? Nt that I like TC's poking style. He even mek Kraig look faster than a tortoise.
Bear in mind that it is only the 1st day and wickets falling around him; no need for him to take risks while Bramble on the go. at this stage fortify your position.
What would you have told him as a coach/manager? Hurry up, and then he get out. And then bramble would have been left holding he tail after the tail gone.
Case in point:check Darren Bravo...the next Lara. Guy has lost his mojo...

Ah big man lost it at the stadium today.. Man seh he watching cricket for over 50 years and Tage gotta be the slowest he ever saw.. lol

Man say if you can't score at a decent rate at this level when or if you make it to the test level wuh gonna happen.. You gonna bat whole day for 5 runs.. lol

SnoopDog 2019-01-10 17:03:36

HAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!!! lol lol lol

You need lotsa booze to watch Tage and Paint bat.

The only times that type of batting is acceptable is if you're saving a match, you're playing on a minefield of a pitch, or if your team is 14 for 5 after a massive top order collapse.

natty_forever 2019-01-10 18:43:32

How many first class matches has he played to date?

Norm 2019-01-10 20:43:16

Tage's 70+ runs came in quite useful today. Nevertheless he will get no further if he continues to overpoke the way he's doing.

Rutherford seems to be getting complacent and lazy, like Helegant. Two ducks edging behind the first or second ball, in 2 consecutive innings just say the wrong things about him. He already seems to grown "too big" for regional cricket.

There are many others, competent players, who would welcome the opportunity to play regional cricket. So, if Rutherford is "too big" for regional cricket already, he should just step aside for those who really want to play.

Otherwise, he needs to put his head down and bat. Jaguars should drop him for a match or 2 if he does nothing of note in this match too.

dat Man didn't see baichan....Baichan was slower than Tage.....but looked far better at the crease...good stance...perfect forward defensive...totally unflustered and unhurried at all times....nobody....on the field or off the field... and nothing bothered him at the crease

I remember a match at Bourda and his hometown crowd kept appealing whenever the ball went anywhere near Baichan's pads smile

TAGE MUST PUT ON WEIGHT - MUSCULAR UPPER BODY. Full stop. That also goes for Kraigg B.

You can choose to be impressed or depressed.

Oh rass budday, how you gon win if you can’t occupy the crease. See Guyana’s standing? We into sadistic cricket. We not sparing the opposition, nor the fans. lol lol lol

It's a 4 day game not a 8 day game. How can you bat an entire day for 70 runs. rubbish

Ow budday, the man doing his thing. Leff him nah. Why you so anxious for him to get out?

If he gets out he will be a watchman not a batsman.

WI have too many watchmen.

Jamaica could have used Tagenarine Chanderpaul instead of the pack of jokers we currently have.

I'd rather have him in my side than McCarthy.
