Has Guyana arrived with WI test batsmen again?

analyst-kid 2019-01-11 15:46:57

Sometime back I was bemoaning the lack of quality Guyanese Test batsmen who have aided to make WI competitive since the arrival of Rohan Kanhai.

Hetmyer
Hemraj
Bramble
Rutherford

...the 2 to 1 to a full strength Barbados I think was as pivotal as the Leewards with Richardson Richard,Ambrose and Benjamin beating a Barbados team with Greenidge Haynes,Marshall and Garner.....it was a passing of the baton from Garner to Ambrose.

WI cannot afford to leave out form players scoring centuries on a home tour after esp the dismal batting displays versus BANGLADESH.

????????????

Butcher, Lloyd, Fredericks, Kallicharran, Chanderpaul and Sarwan all average over 40 in test cricket with more than 3,000 test runs.

All them names you called WI would be glad for Carl Hooper, Andrew Lyght, Monte Lynch, Faoud Bacchus, Clayton Lambert and Timur Mohammed.

analyst-kid 2019-01-12 01:10:10

The success of WI batting was always surrounded around Bajan and Guyanese batting and then the others.

The bowling? Bajan and Jamaican fast bowling and then the others.

Wasnt the first WI test team who went to number one built around batting of Hunte Kanhai Nurse Butcher and Sobers? Then later Greenidge Haynes Lloyd Kallicharan, Fredericks and from Antigua the great Viv?

( Hell...even against SA in SA the only WI TEST AND ONE DAY series victories are with a fast bowling attack of Clarke Moseley Stephenson and Alleyne and batting clearly led by Kallicharan)

When I see complacent Bajan batsmen dominating the WI team in numbers and WI batting failing against bottom teams like Sri Lanka (poor travellers) and Bangladesh I start to ask where are the Guyanese batsmen?

Sarwan last played test cricket EIGHT years ago so he cannot be considered as the present and WI erred badly in dismissing Shiv who should have been utilised to aid the developing but vastly inexperienced batting esp on away tours to Sri Lanka.

So tell me how could I be posting shite when I ask has Guyana arrived with test batsmen again?

Having read your recent responses,I think what your opening statement should have read is the following

Sometime back I was bemoaning the lack of quality Guyanese Test batsmen who have aided to make WI competitive since the arrival of Ronnie Sarwan.

Bro, the Barbados performance was disgusting...it should be 2 to 1.

You should read Pride's coach Emmerson Trotman comments in the Weekend Nation...he was disappointed and disgusted with the batting (and bowling) and he praised Hemraj...in fact he has Hemraj to be WI opener in the upcoming test series.

If I had said that, Che and yourself would be all saying I always putting down the Bajan players!
