Bassarath confirms TTCB re-election bid
Incumbent Trinidad and Tobago Cricket Board president Azim Bassarath will be going up for re-election when the governing body for local cricket holds its overdue executive election on Wednesday at the National Cricket Centre in Balmain, Couva.
The election is more than two years overdue, having been postponed after the TTCB was taken to court by the Dinanath Ramnarine-led National League Representatives in 2016, challenging the fairness of its election rules.
The election, which was due to be held that year, was subsequently put on hold until the court case was concluded. The judge ruled in the TTCB’s favour last month and now the election is set for Wednesday.
