Unbelievable, the poor citizenry. Need to look at assets both locally and abroad, for all, irrespective of party affiliation.

THE DELAY STRATEGY HAS BEGUN - Anil Nandlall

The Campton Reid Case challenging Charandass Persaud's dual citizenship was filed since the 4th day of January, 2019. The case filed by Christopher Ram was done so on the 8th day of January, 2019. They were both fixed for hearing today at 130pm.

These cases raise absolutely no issues of facts which can be disputed. The Attorney General publicly stated that he was aware of the Campton Reid's Case even before it was filed. In fact, he claims that he assisted in the preparation of that case.

The President at his meeting with the Leader of the Opposition promised that the Attorney General will join in intimating to the Honourable Court that these cases must be heard and determined with the greatest dispatch.

Yet, only this morning the Attorney General serves a Notice of Application for an extension of time to file and Affidavit in Defence in both of these matters.

Importantly, there is really no need for any type of Affidavits to be filed because these cases raise no issues of facts which are in dispute. They raise issues of pure law. For that reason, on our side we do not plan to file any affidavits because we wish to expedite the matters.

However, if one chooses to file an affidavit there is no reason why such an affidavit could not have been filed in time for today's hearing. To make an Application today to file such an affidavit is evidence of a clear and settled intention to delay and protract these proceedings.

This is what most Guyanese feared would be a deliberate strategy on the part of the Government.

They are correct! Let us see how the Court will react ? lol
