Is Paint on watch?

Larr Pullo 2019-01-15 12:47:19

Or is he above dropping? He hasn't scored meaningful runs in a while. An in form Paint is hard to stomach, much less an out of touch Paint who is pure torture.

When will CB and company send him back to FC cricket to get some runs and regain form?

He's safe until a couple of openers can consistently put runs on the board.

Well he carries the title of best current west indies batsman and the future although he has been around test cricket for 8+ years and still averages 30 sintin.

That is a huge statement to walk back on, so I reckon it's your first question...smile

Paint is the Vice skipper and our undisputed number one opener. Watching Paint block half volley after half volley, pretty much summs up the state of our cricket. We sure need him to be at his blocking best this series because he has been a walking wicket lately. The answer to your question, is that it appears as if he is beyond reproach in our current state.

Question for you..What has he done lately to warrant a spot on this team for the test matches against England? I just asking..

runout 2019-01-15 20:42:54

India dropped their non-performing openers pronto, and they emerged victorious.

WI on the other hand stick with their failures, and are suffering the consequences.

Horses for courses.

Kay 2019-01-15 20:52:51

Paint still getting a good run …. 8 years and counting smile

Budday, imagine if Paint wasn’t paint, you would have heard the restless natives.

Them can’t stomach certain players, and them same one can’t deny the multitude of chances to proven under performers. No wonder WI cricket is suffering

This man is too gentle to play sports.

He has no personality, is as dull as a wooden spoon, and hence does not inspire confidence on the field. Great cricketers are fierce and inspire fear in the opposition.

I think he is best suited for a gentle calling like accounting or the priesthood.

And how did he become vice captain? He presided over our greatest loss to Bang by and an innings recently..

TheTrail 2019-01-15 22:33:50

If Kraigg is not making any runs replace him with a rising star, Tage Chanderpaul.

Did you not read where i said paint has been a walking wicket lately ? Am not making any claim as to whether or not he deserves to retain his place. Am merely stating the fact that he has been recognized as our number one opener for quite sometime, plus he is the Vice Captain, made it very unlikely that they would drop him and Powell at the same time. Am assuming you have followed our process for sometime. Did you for one minute think they were going to drop him for this series ???

If the chief selector is from some other Islands... surely, his place is not guarantee..and you what you are damn right.

This is a player who get an A retainer contract while another player who has a way better average and performance get a B contract.

You expect dem to drop paint?

imagine dat nuff people in the region including many on this board was touring paint as West Indies best batsman. Tells you all you need to know.

InHindsight 2019-01-16 05:14:07

I agree with all who say that Brathwaite aka Paint should have been dropped. If not for any other reason but on principle.

I am equally disappointed that the young openers in the region didn't see the opportunity to seize the two vacant spots. Hemraj may well have been given a chance despite. And Paint told to go back to first class to work himself.

Now that this persisted with him as I see it failure means total banishment

I can't bear to see him bat even at his best

dayne 2019-01-16 07:51:33

Since the 1st Test is in B/dos I think he deserves a game on pass performance, but the other options are not deserving of his place anyway.

runout 2019-01-16 08:17:47

Paint will be persisted with. No questions.

VIX 2019-01-16 10:48:08

Braffit epitomises test cricket- slow and boring. WI will do well too find 5 other Braffits to populate the test team.

Paint is actually a real character off the field but you're right, that doesn't inspire a team to win matches.
