Barbados selectors killing Springer and Holder career.. Jerome Jones was a promising WI U19 pacer.. You don't hear anything about him these days
In reply to anthonyp
Jerome Jones never got pass the u19 level
In reply to tc1
You and Bim's lack of pushing young fast bowlers. We just producing medium to sweet bowlers. Who is not getting in these fellows head a getting them to put there backs into this. Bim selectors are fools.
Wait you all taking this 2-dayer warm-up serious?
In reply to Kay
This is a youngster that had a 5 wicket haul against the Leewards, and sit after helping the WICB team, to win an International trophy.
In reply to openning
who should he replace?
In reply to hawk
After his 5 wicket haul, any of the youngsters.
He should be ahead of Harding, just like Springer should be ahead of Greaves and Stoute.
That U19 squad showed us, why they should move up to the regional level.
If you are a Bajan, the cricket being played today, is similar to the BCL level, the cricket has been devalue.
In reply to openning
we have a good problem, not sure how it will be fixed as we want to see these players developed i am a springer and holder fan, but greaves and harding are also good prospects
In reply to seaegg99
Jerome Jones regressed from his u19 2012 debut, he was lucky to have made the 2014 team, he has not performed in the BCA.
Both Jones and his teammate Archer did not perform in the Bangladesh u19 series, unfortunately both could have been left out, but a good game from Jones and he was in 2014 WC.
In reply to hawk
Here is the problem, none of these youngsters have performed above expectation, they are in the mix and hopefully one will break loose soon.
The best of these bowlers may be Drakes

Are you aware of the selection of Springer for the West Indies B team, drafted the last couple years by the Trident team and cannot make a Pride starting X!?
Springer opened and scored runs for West Indies B, he was the top performer for Barbados Pride 50 overs team, last regional.
He should be among the first pick, when Jason Holder is not around, Holder's performance against England speaks for itself.A number of the U19 players from that squads, are given the opportunity to show their talent, while the Pride keep the old tried and failed guys, playing ahead of them.
Any youngster that performed at the U19 World Cup level, should be playing regional cricket
In reply to openning
how did Springer performed when he was draft into the Trident set up, Allen, Rutherford and Greaves outplayed Springer in the minor league recently.
Roach ran all batsmen at the 08 WC , he did not play for Bim that year, if the player performed at the u19 WC and performed at trials then he should be give a nod to the regional.
Paul , Hety and other made their regional teams before going to the WC. Springer will be in the team for the next couple of games, we shall see how he or any youngster perform.
In reply to tc1
Dude, you don't need trials anymore to select a squad, that what the draft is all about.
Springer was drafted by both Trident and Pride, the draftees should had been in training camp for a month, seeing the draft was in May.
Brooks was given a team, after a couple matches, they called trials, what kind of preparation is that?
Why is Alleyne back in the team, ahead of Shian Brathwaite?
These youngsters continue to sit, while failures continue to be selected.
BTW, I think little about the BCA Elite and 1st division cricket, the format has been devalue
Why was he selected in that squad, and cannot make a poor Barbados team, why is he continue to be drafted and cannot make a final X!?
In reply to openning
Why were they trials? you still have squads inter games,
Dude? where the hell u live, u serious in 2019? u are a hill billie
Shian ? a hitter of the ball,
Springer will get his chance this week, pray that he comes good.
In reply to anthonyp but is a Bajan selector pick him for this match. Suh one Bajan showing up the other?
In reply to natty_forever
Ah don't know what these bajans seeing in the likes of Cummins.. He's a waste
Harding and Holder would've been in my XI ahead of him any day..
In reply to tc1
Holder and Springer should have bee given consistent game time to build their game. The constant cut and change will no improve their cricket. Their talent is very visable. Harding would have made that same U-19 team had not for injury. You watch how Archer developed once he left Bim and got to play on a consistent basis. The youths on the other teams were given that and their games blossomed. Yet Bim consistently doesn't allow for advancement.
The judgement of talent is lacking in Bim. If said Archer had stayed in Bim the young man would be nowhere close to recognizing his talent. Cummins has reached his limit and more than likely will not improve much. Harding and Holder are at his limit right now and are less experienced than him.
In reply to seaegg99
Fast forward, Springer , Harding and Holder will be on show for many games this season, bye the Greaves outplayed Springer and Primus is not even considered.
Archer is 2 years older than Springer, Harding and Holder and failed to perform in the series leading up to the world cup.
In reply to tc1
Stop the nonsense, Greaves was injured all year, he has not bowled a ball for Empire, why play him as a batsman, when he cannot bowl?
After Springer's performance for Pride in the Regional Super 50, he should be first allrounder pencil in, in the first two matches.
In reply to tc1
I live in Calgary, and have surrounded myself with a number of professionals people.
You don't need trial, when you have a draft.
Whats needed is practice, Red and white games.
The Pride drafted X111 players, the BCA has another group on contracts, why do you need trials.
Bro, try reading about best practices, you will move away and get enlightened in the world of team sports.
Are you aware that Kirk Edwards, spent weeks in Grenada training, after being drafted by the Windward franchise, last year?
Did the Windwards or any other franchise had trials?
In reply to openning
are you disputing the fact that Greaves has outplayed Springer.
what is best practices? nice phase , but the best practices are not always the most suited or appropriate for your program.
you still have to have trials, whether you call it Red n white or group A or B. I understand your success moving in the professional setting, please go back to Bim and the WI and help the un -professionals.
In reply to tc1
Bro, trials as you grew up with, was for selection into a team.
Cricket franchises look at players performances and draft the group of players needed for that season.
The Regional was held it draft in May 2018.
Here are the list of players drafted for the 2018/19 series.
Squads picked in draft for CWI PCL 2018-19 season
These players should had been in a camp, in preparation for the regionals.
The BCA as I stated earlier also has a number of contracted players.
BCA gives 12 Development contracts including three to national Under-19s
Learning is ongoing, I strive to learn, daily.

The point about Springer you are not seeing is his talent with the bat is wastting on the sidelines. Kid played on the international scene and was one of the top ten batsmen. Yet all Bim selectors see is an allrounder label. Spinger looks more confident at bat than most chosen as batsmen. You need to get off the idea that playing a young player now and then will help his development for those who hit their ceiling and will not get better.
In reply to seaegg99
Amen to that.
In reply to openning
you are contradiction yourself, and trying to fit a peg into a square hole with trials and drafting, call it what it may, there are trials to formulate the team.
did Bim not had trial matches and you complained about it?
a lil knowledge is dangerous.('')
