Lara: Confront, embrace hurdles

THREE standout graduates of the 2018 bmobile Cricket Academy were presented with an opportunity of a lifetime when legendary batsman Brian Lara recently invited the talented trio to spend some one-on-one time with him at his home on Lady Chancellor Hill, St. Clair.

The young men — Justyn Gangoo (Valedictorian), Sachin Soodeen (Most Improved Player) and Tariq Mohammed (Most Disciplined Player) — were selected from a specialised bunch of 19 cricketers who took part in the academy which took the form of a live-in weekend camp, from October to December, 2018 at the Sir Frank Worrell Development Centre in Couva.

In reply to Lamb… I had the pleasure of meeting him and think so as well. Treasure a pic I have with him and my son.

He is a man of class and knows how to "come down" to the people as well.

Another great trait of the gentleman.

It is sad we don't have many modern day ambassadors of the sport like him anymore.

sad
