It is good to see Springer in the starting X1, Shian Brathwaite for Alleyne would had been better.
BTW, Harding played in all matches, Chemar Holder is the other player from the U19 wc squad, Seaegg and I has been writing about.

@ Dinner Break, Trinidad & Tobago are 145 for 8, with Cariah on 23 from 85 balls and St Clair on 0 from 5 balls.

Stoute have taken 4 wickets for 29 runs from 17 overs.

Jason Mohammed continues his run of poor scores and as the team most experience specialist batter his form is a big worry.

Amir Jangoo made 5, his promising form from last year seems to have deserted him. Imran Khan is an all rounder but his batting has also been below par.

It therefore begs the question, why have so many of our batters failing so consistently?

Emir 2019-01-17 18:23:50

167 for 9, St Clair out caught at slip by Nurse off Stoute who now has a 5 wicket haul.

Emir 2019-01-17 18:55:38

170 all out.

Bim are 4 for 0 after 1 ball- great start for Bajans

STUMPS DAY 1

T&T RED FORCE 170/10 (60.4 Ov)

BARBADOS PRIDE 52/3 (22.0 Ov)

FALL OF WICKETS 1 - 29(ANTHONY ALLEYNE, 10.2 ov) , 2 - 31(AARON JONES, 13.1 ov) , 3 - 33(SHAYNE MOSELEY, 14.4 ov)

analyst-kid 2019-01-18 02:42:11

Trinidad has removed the three weakest links of the Bajan batting namely the first three tomorrow they must battle the in form Carter and the new arrivals to the tournament this year Stoute,Springer Kirton with Walcott and Nurse.

analyst-kid 2019-01-18 02:52:34

openning is correct in asking for Shian Brathwaite as Alleyne Jones (and Greaves) has proven to be quite useless this season in the batting section.

Stoute based on stats and past performances is Barbados most successful bowler still playing in List A. He follows other medium pacers over the years like Hendy Bryan, Ian Bradshaw, Neil Philips and Stephen Farmer. Doubtful even Guyana could have made 550 with Stoute on board at Kensington with his nagging accuracy and movement.

Carter needs to employ his spin bowling skills in Trinidad's second innings with Nurse and Jones...if he had done this earlier in his career he would be a staple on WI tours.

I like Justin Greaves, the allrounder, selecting as a batsman was the wrong decision, since he had not bowled all season.
Anyone that followed sports, can see that performance at the international level, should be rewarded.
Players like Brooks, Corbin, Carter and others, may score runs at time, but will not win you regional trophies, or be main stays on any International team.
Youngsters like Shian, should be given the opportunity.

WICFan 2019-01-18 16:11:59

Is Roshon Primus eligible for selection for Barbados?

I thought it was a bit surprising that nobody picked him up in the draft.
