We are absolutely fooling ourselves!!!
In reply to Larr Pullo
Lemme guess. Devon Smith would have done better
In reply to imusic
You said it!!!
I find this situation ridiculous. We picking players who have not demonstrated that they are even close to being ready to be a test opener.
Twice in a forking day dude?????
In reply to Larr Pullo
Larr I have to agree with you on this one. Devon maybe only be out first over once in a day, but never ever twice in a day.
In reply to Larr Pullo
Cricket is Life.
My Auntie told my cousin (female): it is better for 10 men to fool you one time, than for 1 man to fool you 10 times.
APPLY TO THIS SITUATION!!!!!!!!!!

Campbell and Brooks do not inspire confidence. Hope to see them bat next Wed but I suspect it will not be for long. Tage should be ready by this time next year.
In reply to imusic obviously DS wud have done better, it is a practice match.
In reply to imusic
I find it ridiculous, we wasting our time with this newbie Campbell fellow.
A better option at the opening position would have been to persist with inspirational Devon "Twinkle Toes" Smith.
I have no doubt that, given another 43 tests he could eventually raise his batting average to about 24 runs.
In reply to Headley
They both can't play.

Well, Shiny New Thing will get his chance next week. He can't possibly do worse. He can only go up from here, can't he?
In reply to Larr Pullo
John Campbell won't set the world on fire..Good luck anyway.
The thing is, back in the day, players had to dominate regional tournaments for several years before they got a look in.
The other thing I dont understand is why they dont pick a core of players for A team, test team, odi and T20 and only use from that pool. In doing so, those players would get a longer run together, gel as a team etc.
CWI and the selectors do not understand the core elements of team building.
Jamie Overton is coming to WI to replace Olly Stone who is injured.
He will be a handful on Kensington green top.
Clocking @ 149 Km + @ times , let's wait to see how Kraigg and John Campbell handle that pace.
Well lets start the newbie off with words of motivation and wish him well. I have seen other players, not calling any names who shot their wad from warm up games with high scores but struggled to make a run in an actual test match. He has the goods all that's needed are humility and application.
Am I seeing right did the newbie take 3 wickets and no comments about his bowling? Or am I wrong?
Two openers who are capable of also bowling a large number of overs will be an asset to WI test team, I have been advocating for this match up at the top order for over a year now. Newbie already demonstrated his bowling capabilities.

Nobody will bat an eye at his wickets. He is there to bat. More notice would be taken if he scores 30 than takes 3.
Besides in a test, he is behind Chase and KB in terms of bowling off breaks.
In reply to Slipfeeler
Can you suggest a reason why John Campbell did not open the batting today?
In reply to Dukes
expose him to failure when he certain to open in the test match?
In reply to Raggs
I would like to hear from his main booster.
In reply to Dukes
he bowls too much yesterday and that will hinder his batting today

Oops!
That part-time work doesn't count.

In reply to Larr Pullo…
for john campbell still to be sitting and not batting must be an injury.
In reply to Raggs
Don't think we will see him bat...probably gonna hit the nets. I doubt its an injury.
In reply to Raggs
Don't want to expose Yagga2 to the Pommies
gotta keep our secret weapon back
In reply to XDFIX
In reply to Raggs maybe he been to St. Thomas.
In reply to natty_forever
i heard he is the kind of bat that explodes if given the chance to. ala basil 'shotgun' williams.
if he somehow sees off a few overs he could compliment the 'paint' well.
Why not open with Bravo and play 5 bowlers?
Saying that i wish Campbell well.. never seen him bat but his record doesnt inspire much confidence.
