I don't know if there is any (commercial) benefit of these 'nicknames', it seems a bit pointless.

Do people around the Caribbean say that they're going to watch 'The Pride' match/play?

Yeah, Shouldn't that be the other way around? Leewards Volcanoes (Monserrat) and Windwards Hurricanes (Dominica)?
At the very least if you going to name these teams make is as practical as possible.

I despise both names especially Hurricanes considering what I have witnessed and experienced personally the devastating effect of a Cat 5. I will write to LICA to ask them to change that name to Revolution as the current name brings back painful memories for those of us affected by calamitous hurricanes.

Exactly my sentiments. I had to say something at the risk of being called worse than a Goofy.
Not only is it ridiculous, I find it very offensive and brutal to bring up back images of disasters.
I experienced Irena here, hiding and quaking. Friends lost their businesses. Plus images of all the disasters around the world on tv, most recently in our backyard in the Caribbean.

Agreed. Too much devastation that many of the residents have experienced first hand from the two. More appropriate names should be used for Leewards and Windwards.

Still surprised the Guyana unit hasn't been sued for the logo thing for so long. PCL must really be low-key in the sports world.
